Twenty-Three Years Of Constant Fear Posted: 24 Jun 2011 02:27 PM PDT The following email was forwarded to me last evening by a woman in eastern Kentucky. If any of the readers can offer comments I am sure that she would appreciate your thoughts: In October 1988 a friend and I had an astonishing UFO sighting and encounter. We were both in our sophomore year of high school. I will have about that incident later in my story but first I want to relate other experiences. Two years later strange things started to happen to me. On my 18th birthday I went to bed about 11:30 pm...all I remember was laying down. Sometime around 3 am I woke up in the backyard freezing and absolutely terrified. What I don't understand is if I was sleep walking why didn't my parents wake up? I know my mom should have because she has always been a very light sleeper. After the incident I couldn't sleep at all for the next 3 nights. In November 1994 I was living alone in a house that a friend's grandmother had rented to me. One night I was laying on the couch watching television...after the program I rolled over and went to sleep. Not long after I was awaken by very intense bright white lights. At first I thought someone had pulled into my driveway and I started to get up to see who it was. I thought it might have been a friend of mine who lived right up the road, because he had come to the house that late on a number of occasions because he worked the 2nd shift. As I was starting to get out of bed to see who it was an overwhelming terror came over me. I laid back down and pulled the covers over my head...that's all I remember until the next morning when I woke up with my feet on the back of the couch and my head and body on the floor with my shirt on the wrong side out. I had a similar experience in 1996 at a different house in a different part of the country. Now, it's happened again. Early this morning at around 5 am (June 23rd, 2011) I woke and swear I saw 3 small figures standing next to the bed. It was pitch black because the power had gone off. I immediately rolled back over and put the covers over my head and thought to myself "I didn't see that...I don't want to see that". After a few minutes and without taking the covers off of my head I reached over on the night stand and got my flashlight, raised up out of bed and simultaneously turn on the flashlight. There was nothing there. I was terrified because it felt like someone was in the bedroom with me even though I could not see anything. Oddly enough as soon as I clicked on the flashlight the power came back on immediately afterwards. I'm not claiming that I have been abducted but if I was I simply don't want to know the details. I'm overly concerned that these experiences will continue and that I will eventually become aware that an abduction is occurring. I have never received any communication and I cannot find any marks on my body. The only symptoms I have are insomnia for several days and loss of appetite...but I don't get tired or sleepy. I have noticed that some items in the house are moved around and, in fact, a few things have gone missing including a perfume bottle, a hair brush and a blanket. To be honest with you, my real concern centers around my father and the UFO incident in October 1988. The night I had the sighting and encounter, my father went missing...he has never been seen or heard from again. He had previously claimed that he has been abducted by extraterrestrials and that these beings performed experiments on him. The encounter my friend and I had was very scary and confusing. We have never been able to talk about to each other even though we are still close. I have an awful feeling something may happen to me and that I may actually find out what became of my father. Can someone possibly give me sound advice? I have seen psychiatrists and psychologists for almost 15 years now....no one has been able to alleviate my fear. If you can post my email, I would be grateful. I look forward to reading comments. Nancy Eastern Kentucky |
Posted: 24 Jun 2011 12:33 PM PDT Ghostly image shocks wedding guests People at a wedding reception at the Newman Wine Vaults in St. John's believe they caught an image of an uninvited and otherworldly guest. Newlyweds Matt White and Danielle Hann said one of their friends was shocked by the digital image she took at the June 18 event. "Karen [Hanlon] was staring at this camera and she came running out with the camera saying, 'Look what I just took! Look what I just took! There's somebody in the picture," said White. On the right-hand side of the photograph, some see a figure that seems to be wearing a white top and floating in the air. "Somehow it's not as creepy in the daylight," said White. But it still makes Hann uneasy. "I don't know, it's still creepy," she said. St. John's folklorist Dale Jarvis said it might be explained away as a reflection or a light flare, but he added that the Newman Wine Vaults does have a haunting history. "It is one of those places that continually generates new ghost stories. So, this is part of that tradition for the space," said Jarvis, who has collected many St. John's ghost stories. Jarvis is the organizer of the city's "haunted hike" – a tour of the downtown area that recounts many of the stories he has been told. The Newfoundland and Labrador Heritage website said the history of the wine vault is unclear. It's believed to have been built in the early 19th century, and was used by the English mercantile firm Newman and Company to age port wine from Portugal in St. John's – a tradition that began in the late 17th century and continued until the late 19th century. The building is on a long-term lease from Newman & Company to the Newfoundland Historic Trust. The Trust has developed the vaults into a museum dedicated to recounting the history of Newfoundland's liquor trade. - ca.msn ********** New Comet Found; May Be Visible From Earth in 2013 There's a newfound comet closing in on the sun, and when it gets here in 2013, you may be able to see it with your naked eye. Astronomers stumbled upon the icy interloper on June 5 while searching for potentially hazardous asteroids. Equipped with the world's largest digital camera—1,400 megapixels—the University of Hawaii's Pan-STARRS team snagged a faint image of the odd object while it was more than 700 million miles (1.1 billion kilometers) away, between the orbits of Jupiter and Saturn. (Explore an interactive solar system.) "Almost everything we find is an asteroid, but this object was suspicious," said Richard Wainscoat, co-discoverer of the comet and an astronomer at the University of Hawaii. "Unlike asteroids, which appear point-like in images, the telltale sign that gave it away was its fuzzy appearance." By March 2013 the comet, named C/2011 L4 (PANSTARRS), is expected to come within 30 million miles (48 million kilometers) of the sun—closer even than the innermost planet, Mercury. When the comet makes its closest approach to the sun, more of its ices will vaporize, adding to its hazy envelope of gas and dust and producing the familiar tail. This denser envelope, or coma, should boost the comet to peak brightness, making it potentially visible to the naked eye low in the western horizon just after sunset. While there is no danger of collision with Earth, preliminary calculations of the comet's orbit show that this may be its first and final trip through the solar system. "It may be coming around the sun for the first and only time, only to be ejected from the solar system, never to return," Wainscoat said. "Since we don't have a lot of data on it, we really don't know the orbit well enough right now, and it will take up to two months of observations to find out." Astronomers believe C/2011 L4 may be a runaway from the Oort cloud, a reservoir of billions of hibernating comets that orbits about 100,000 times farther than the distance between Earth and the sun. "The current path of the comet is typical of those thought to be originating from the Oort cloud, showing it coming up from the south—underneath the Earth—going up the back side of the sun and into the north sky, very nearly perpendicular to the plane of the solar system," Wainscoat said. The fact that it's going around the back of the sun from our point of view may ultimately affect the comet's visibility, but a lot will depend on how close the body actually gets to the sun. Also, whether the comet is north or south of the sun when it reaches peak brightness will determine which hemisphere on Earth gets the better view. For now, "we think it will be an easy binocular target, but it may very well make it to naked-eye level, and there is even a potential that it may be visible during the day," Wainscoat said. "But it's just really too early to tell. We may not know for sure until only a few weeks before it gets here." - NatGeo ********** 'Jesus chair' listed on eBay for $25,000 How much would you pay for an old, wooden chair that you can't even sit in? Resident Lou Balducci is hoping at least $25,000. Balducci has listed an old patio rocking chair, purchased at HomeGoods some 10 years ago, on eBay with a starting bid price of $25,000. But this isn't just any old rocking chair; it's one that bears the image of what Balducci believes to be Jesus Christ. Balducci first noticed the anomaly in February as he and his wife were preparing to throw away a pair of rocking chairs that had sat in their backyard for years. The chairs' wood was rotting and their supports were broken. White paint flaked off anytime the chair was moved or touched. His wife had thrown away the chairs' rain-soaked cushions a few days before. Balducci stood outside on the back patio, smoking a cigar and staring at the pair of barren, unusable chairs when something caught his eye. In a paint-chipped, rotting knot of wood near the base of one chair's backrest, Balducci saw the face of Jesus as he knows him to be. - ocregister ********** Finding Bigfoot...Isn't We watched the purity of ghost research descend into the depths of hell with the deluge of "reality" television like Paranormal State and other "ghost hunter" shows. Now the steady decline of Crytpozoology gets its day. Shows like River Monsters and Destination Truth initially gave us hope that the Crypto world would raise the bar for "reality research" by doing actual field work and seeming not to fake results. The latest entry, "Finding Bigfoot" looked promising as well because it was not only presumably going to contain Canadian Content but also not focussed on handsome hunks with perfect hair. Continue reading at Finding Bigfoot...Isn't ********** Giant Gator Killed In Trinity River, Texas An episode of 'Swamp People' inspired Dallas attorney Levi McCathern to go on a hunt for bigger game. "Something I wanted to do was hunt something that could hunt me and alligators seemed like a challenge," said McCathern, who has hunted since the age of six. But huge reptiles are a far cry from hunting dove and quail, which McCathern said he hunts year-round. As McCathern started looking for places he could hunt the large reptile, he checked the internet and typed two words -- monster alligators. One place that kept showing in the search was the Trinity River. Yes, the Trinity River, which criss-crosses much of North Texas. Guided by experts two hours outside Dallas in Leon County, McCathern got his shot when a monster gator popped his head up out of the water just long enough for McCathern to pull the trigger. "It went right in the brain... it was a perfect shot, probably my luckiest shot." Weighing a whopping 900 lbs and stretching 14 ft long, McCathern's gator may be the largest ever killed in Texas history. "They took him to the town square in Crockett and just caused a traffic jam," said McCathern who admits his testosterone has been "very high" since the kill. "My wife probably doesn't like it as much as she should, I've been pretty big since I killed this alligator." It's the kind of trophy that makes legends of hunters, though McCathern has proven as a lawyer he's quite the angler, landing the biggest fish in town as a client, Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. McCathern said the plan is to have the gator mounted and placed on a wall in his office where other hunting trophies adorn the walls. Is his conquest of the giant reptile proof positive lawyers are truly sharks? McCathern laughs at the idea, along with his new nickname. "My name is Levi G McCathern...and everybody says it's G for Gator." It is against the law to hunt alligators along the Trinity River, but McCathern had special permission from a private property owner to go on the hunt after many of the rancher's cattle were gobbled up by the behemoth reptile. - NBCDFW ********** Vinny getting ready for his next victim! |
Media Reports: Sanger Paranormal 'Bigfoot Evidence' Press Conference Posted: 24 Jun 2011 08:07 AM PDT Paranormal group seeks help confirming 'Bigfoot DNA' A California paranormal group claims to have DNA samples of Bigfoot -- concrete evidence of the legendary creature's existence -- but they want help authenticating them. Members of the Sanger Paranormal Society will call upon the public to donate money and resources to their Bigfoot research effort at a Thursday afternoon news conference in Fresno, Calif. The society's founder, Jeffrey Gonzalez, plans to present what he believes is an impression of the creature's face, pressed into two windows on the left-hand side of his pickup truck. Each windowpane print depicts a seven-inch long pair of lips and a five-inch wide set of nostrils, Gonzalez told CTV.ca in a phone conversation from Fresno. "We also found a 12-inch long footprint near the car," said Gonzalez, who added that he's preserved the samples in a climate-controlled room. The prints were discovered 5,500 feet above ground at California's High Sierra mountain range during a six-person Sasquatch hunting expedition, said Gonzalez. "A forensic expert has swabbed the prints for DNA and taken photographs on scene," said Gonzalez. "Now all we need to do is eliminate the possibility of it being another animal." Gonzalez said he hopes that an anthropologist or anyone with a database of animal DNA steps forward to help authenticate their samples. "It's not a hoax, it's not a joke; we have a reputation to protect," said Gonzalez, who works as a technician for AT&T. Bigfoot enthusiasts became the brunt of many jokes in 2008 when two hikers in Georgia purported to have the creature's body in a freezer. Their hairy corpse turned out to be a rubber hoax. For Martin Evison, the only place Bigfoot exists is in folklore. The University of Toronto anthropology professor said he won't consider the possibility of Sasquatch's existence without seeing the creature himself. "We have so much technology now, if this thing existed we would have found it already," Evison told CTV.ca. "I don't even bother thinking about Bigfoot. I have better things to do." - CTV ----- Bigfoot evidence possibly found in Sierra Mountains A local group of Bigfoot enthusiasts says it has new evidence the creature exists in in our local Sierra Mountains. They say an imprint left on a pickup truck window over Memorial Day weekend is in fact that of a Bigfoot. A team of five from the Sanger Paranormal Society was camping in the mountains about 2 1/2 hours east of Fresno. They say they left the truck behind to quickly escape a snow storm. When they went back the next day they found the imprint and had it examined. Jeffrey Gonzalez said, "As it backed off it left an impression on the back window. Whatever it was, it was oily, greasy and dirty because you can see the facial features, you can see the shoulders and torso just like the Shroud of Turin." The group collected what it thinks is DNA from the imprint. But now it needs help paying for the DNA to be tested, before drawing any official conclusions. - abclocal ----- Bigfoot In Our Backyard They've been hunting for Bigfoot for years. Now a local paranormal group says it has the most convincing evidence yet. These trackers say Bigfoot is not too far from our backyard. Over the years they've had close encounters but they say their newest find provides them with DNA to prove this is no myth. Jeffrey Gonzales of the Sanger Paranormal Society claims an impression left on a pickup window is the most convincing evidence of Bigfoot since the Patterson film of 1967. "As it backed off it left an impression on the passenger window. Whatever it was, it was oily, greasy dirty because you can see the facial features." Gonzales probably sees more than most of us but here is how the impression got on his pickup. He and his fellow Bigfoot trackers went to their "special spot" two and a half hours east of Fresno. They say it requires driving winding dirt roads before you get to 55–hundred feet. On Thursday they displayed evidence from previous finds. Numerous foot prints and a shot of Bigfoot sitting on a rock 500 yards away. The impression on the pickup window occurred when Gonzales left the truck in the high country. Their group got caught in a surprise snow storm and his pickup doesn't have four wheel drive. Forensic specialist Mickey Burrow was called in to collect DNA from the window. "My position is I don't know what it is. I'd like to find out exactly what it is." He compared the print to a bear, mountain lion and a gorilla. The bear and mountain lion had too many inconsistencies, but not one with the gorilla. "I can't make a determination on the creature itself however in all I would say it's likely that it is an ape," said Burrow. They come from all walks of life: a high school principal, nurse, plumber and crime scene expert. Their common bond is believing Bigfoot exists. "Since I was a kid in search of Bigfoot. Anything that has to do with Bigfoot it's my passion including ghosts and unidentified flying objects," Gonzalez said. The latest snag for the group is finding money to pay for DNA testing. They believe the bill will be in the thousands. - KMPH NOTE: in case you missed it, here is my quick assessment of the press conference - 'Bigfoot Face Plant' Press Conference Falls Short...Lon Spirit Rescue International™ Providing no-cost professional spiritual help, personal support and guidance Take the first step towards genuine peace of mind The Spirit Rescue International™ Haunted Help Forum *Join Our Group On Facebook* Join Eric Altman, Lon Strickler and Sean Forker LIVE each Sunday at 10 PM ET as we go Beyond the Edge!
