I received the following emails in response to recent posts:

Hey Lon - I just read your article on 'Skinwalkers'.

My mom died in May of 1988 but talked many times about a certain occurrence that happened to her when I was 7, which would have been 1970. In all the places we lived we had ghosts or whatever you choose to call them, and when you grow up in that - it's just normal - as odd as that might sound.

Anyhow, my mom was VERY physic and about this time (1970) she started hanging out with a lot of witches and a lot of criminals. Not that the 2 are related. Just to let you know, my brother and I had a very interesting childhood. My brother is 3-4 yrs older than me - depending on who had the last birthday and he and my mom were very close. Well, she and my brother Terry would play a lot of mental telepathy games in his room in the basement. If she was around, she would just focus on him and they'd go down to his room and do these mind games. Like what color, number, whatever am I thinking of. Stuff like that.

Anyhow, we lived in South Minneapolis at the time and it was sometime in 1970. They had been downstairs doing their thing and they came up freaked out. What my mom told me was that when they were doing their mind thing it felt like she was being pulled backwards out of her body. It was like her spirit was being drawn towards the basement window. It was one of those really small narrow ones that no one could ever fit through. She had been facing Terry and as she was being pulled, she could see Terry's (my brother) face. She said he looked terrified as he was looking at her.

She told me she fought with everything she had to get back into her body and was finally able to do so. When she got back into her body she asked Terry what happened. He told her that she started turning into a giant black cat. They both came up and told me what happened and then again many times over the years. The story never changed and I never doubted it. One thing I should say also is she always said she wanted to be a big black cat. Like a black panther. I don't know how it happened but I believe it to this day.

Then around 1979 or 1980 my mom and I lived in N.E. Minneapolis and one of her friends came over. This was a man called Moe. I don't know if that was his real name or a nickname but I remember he was super cool and belonged to Wicca and was something of a high priest. My mom always said they were the good witches and he performed exorcisms. She had a couple friends who did but Moe was the nicest. Well, she was in the tub when Moe came over so we were sitting at the kitchen table. I have ALWAYS been afraid of werewolves so thought I'd ask him about them - knowing that he would tell me they were just made up. That wasn't what he told me. He paused and said "I can't tell you if there are or aren't werewolves. I have read about werewolves being in the hills in Russia but I don't know. I DO know a woman who can turn herself into a cat though."

Well, the cat thing I really wasn't thinking too much about because I was now concentrating on the werewolf issue. My mom and I were not close and it's weird because we never had a 'normal' family and didn't talk about what most people do I guess but later it dawned on me that (what I have come to believe at any rate) is that that was Moe's way of telling me about my mom. Perhaps she was finally able to learn and harness the energy it took to make the change. She wasn't home much but spent a great deal of time with her witch friends so who knows? Anyhow, I value Moe's input and I know from Terry and my mom both that at least that one time she was indeed turning from a human physical form into a giant cat. How this is possible I cannot fathom or comprehend but I believe it because the story from 1970 to when she died in 1988 NEVER ONCE CHANGED.

Lon, my heart goes out to this woman (in Twenty-Three Years Of Constant Fear ). However, if her father was having similar problems, that could be a factor in her own issues, whether actual encounters or imagined. I don't say "imagined" as if I assume they both had a mental deficiency or disease. Perhaps they both are sensitive to magnetic or other energies, which can trigger an abduction scenario in sensitive individuals. (Scientifically proven.) I can't help but wonder if any of her psychiatric help discussed this possibility with her, and if it helped relieve her anxiety or not. The disappearance of her father, who strongly believed he was being abducted, is a powerful trauma on its own, even if she did not have the experiences she reported.

There are some things that bothered me about the story. Like the friend and her going through something, but not having talked about it at all. That could have been because she "flipped out" having an experience in her mind, and perhaps in her panic, convincing her friend something was going on as well. The friend, being a supportive, true friend, has stuck by her through the years, but perhaps can't tell her she was flipping out, or scared her to death.

You know I have had my share of odd experiences and encounters, and am not certain if they were real or not, or the result of being sensitive to various energies, such as microwaves and electric towers, and not wanting to know for sure at times, because I didn't want to deal with the reality if such horrific scenarios were real. So, I can empathize with the woman who wrote to you.

The only advice I can give, completely in confidence, without revealing my identity, is this woman might feel better if she were able to focus on the fact that she is a survivor. She has had no lasting physical affects that she is aware of, and she needs to concern herself with what she has control over: trying to heal from the emotional impact of these traumatic events in her life, and preparing herself mentally on how to deal with any future encounters. If and when another situation begins to happen, she could respond as many have, do all in her power to convince herself she is dreaming. That she is having a panic attack in her dream, and try to breathe deeply and calm herself, that she will awaken in the morning and be OK. Even if her clothes are inside out or missing, she can assess that she is OK in the morning, all in one piece and not hurt, and focus on that part of the resolution of the experience.

I would also recommend that, for the confidence, clarity and reassurance it brings, she pray for protection, for peace, for wisdom to know how to respond and react and reason the best for her own health and safety.

I hope in some way what I have said will be of help to her, as it has to me.

Hello, I read your blog every day and am a fan on Facebook so I finally decided to email an experience in.

Over a period of around seven years while I was growing up two figures regularly appeared to me at night (sometimes each night of the week, sometimes only appearing once or twice a week) they would appear just outside and just inside of my bedroom doorway, and they never tried to move any closer into the room. They would appear while I lay in bed. One figure appeared to be male, the other female. They were perfect silhouettes with no features to speak of. However, they appeared to be made of something similar to static on a television. They were brightly coloured, as if made of tiny blue pink and green dots of static. Sometimes they stood still and watched me and others they moved quickly and fluently around the area they were standing in. Although a small part of me told myself I should probably feel frightened, I never felt threatened by the figures and I never fell asleep as calmly as when they had appeared. Sometimes I would lose focus of them for a second but they would always reappear a few seconds later. As I grew up I stopped seeing the figures (Probably at about age 11.)

They often appeared to notice me, and in all honesty I got the constant feeling that they were there for me (partly because no one else noticed them, partly because they appeared to me so regularly.)

I've had many different experiences with the paranormal since then, having grown up with a passionate interest, but I have never seen anything remotely like these figures since they stopped appearing to me, and I have never really come across anything that could explain it, either.

While it may sound like the overactive imagination of a child, the fact that I saw them regularly over a period of six years and the fact that some of my very earliest memories are of these figures (I have earlier memories of these figures than I do of my family) leads me to believe otherwise.

I would greatly appreciate any info or any similar experiences you have heard about, although it doesn't seem important when compared to some of the things you are emailed with I've been trying for a long time to find something out about what they were.

Cemetery of giant creatures found in Central Africa

A team of anthropologists found a mysterious burial in the jungle near the city of Kigali Rwanda (Central Africa).

The remains belong to gigantic creatures that bear little resemblance to humans. Head of research group believes that they could be visitors from another planet who died as a result of a catastrophe.

According to the scientists, they were buried at least 500 years ago. At first, researchers thought that they came across the remains of ancient settlements, but no signs of human life have been found nearby.

The 40 communal graves had approximately 200 bodies in them, all perfectly preserved. The creatures were tall - approximately 7 feet. Their heads were disproportionately large and they had no mouth, nose or eyes.

The anthropologists believe that the creatures were members of an alien landing, possibly destroyed by some terrestrial virus to which they had no immunity. However, no traces of the landing of the spacecraft or its fragments were discovered.

This is not the first such finding. In the summer of 1937 a group of Chinese scientists led by Professor Chi Putei surveyed the caves of Mount Bayan-Kara-Ula. Inside they found skeletons with excessively large heads and puny bodies. Nearby there were 176 stone plates. In the center of each plate there was a hole from which a spiral groove spread out to the perimeter with some characters on it.

In addition, the cave walls were covered with pictures of the rising sun, moon and stars, with many painted dots or small items, slowly approaching the mountains and the earth's surface.

Experts in deciphering ancient written characters have been puzzled over the disclosure of the secret spirals from the cave Bayan-Kara-Ula for two decades. Finally, the professor of Beijing University Zum Umniu deciphered several inscriptions.

The grooved letters narrated that approximately 12 thousand years ago some flying objects crashed in these mountains. Chinese archaeologists found a mention of the peoples who lived in the mountainous caves of Bayan-Kara-Ula.

A corpse of another "alien" was found by Turkish cavers. A mummy of the ice age was resting in a sarcophagus made of crystalline material. The height of the humanoid male creature did not exceed 1 meter 20 centimeters, his skin was light green, and he had large transparent wings on his sides.

According to the researchers, in spite of the unusual appearance the creature looked more like a person rather than an animal. His nose, lips, ears, hands, feet, nails, were very similar to human. Only his eyes were very different, three times bigger than those of a human, and colorless, like reptile's eyes.

Not that long ago in one of the ancient Egyptian tombs a mummy of a man 2.5 meters tall was found. It had no nose or ears, and its mouth was very wide and had no tongue.

According to archaeologist Gaston de Villars, the age of the Mummy is approximately 4 thousand years. It was buried as an Egyptian nobleman - carefully mummified and surrounded by servants, food and art objects designed for the afterlife. However, as it was discovered, not all objects around the finding belong to the Egyptian or even Earth's culture. For example, among the finds was a round polished metal disk covered with strange characters, a costume made of metal with the remnants of something resembling plastic shoes, and many stone tablets filled with images of stars, planets and strange machines. The Shrine where a strange mummy was found also looks unusual. The burial was made of the material unknown in antiquity. The stone was literally carved from the rock so that the walls were smooth, like polished marble. It looked as if it was cut by a laser. Incidentally, the stone's surface was fused. The tomb was decorated with a substance resembling lead.

However, the "alien" theory is not the only one. According to some researchers, the "giants" and "dwarfs" could be a mere side branch of humanity that once lived on Earth, but for some reason became extinct. - archaeologydaily

Freakish fires terrorize family

Mysterious fires that apparently ignite spontaneously have over the past two weeks destroyed the homes and belongings of a family in Hopewell near Thornville.

The freakish fires have burned through the Mthembu family's main house, two low-cost houses in the yard and another low-cost house belonging to the children, across the street from the main family home.

The charred remains of some of their possessions - beds, sound system speakers, plastic and steel wash basins, food and clothes - lay in the yard on Sunday.

The steel basins had melted.

The remaining furniture that the family managed to pull out of the fire was strewn across the lawn as they kept watch over it.

Neighhbours, fire-fighters and managers from the Richmond municipality and uMgungundlovu district disaster management teams agreed that this was the first fire of its kind they have witnessed.

They said they had seen the fire start spontaneously and burn through things that had been pulled from the house.

Mashoba Mthembu, the owner of the house, said at least 13 family members are squatting together in one room because they have nowhere else to sleep and that the children are fearful of sleeping in the main house.

Started on bed

She said that the fires started almost two weeks ago on her bed.

"It first burned through my bed and it burnt it halfway.

In that bed there was about R3?000 that had been paid a few weeks earlier for my daughter's ilobola, and it also burnt," Mthembu added.

She said that after her bed was burnt, the fire raged through each of the bedrooms, consuming mattresses first and then the whole rooms.

So far it has burned about four bedrooms in the main house.

"At first we thought that it was children who were just playing with fire and accidentally caused it, but the matter came to a head on yesterday (Sunday) when the fire became uncontrollable.

"It burned through everything. If you put it out here, it will start somewhere else."

She said the fire had also burnt her daughter's house, which is across the street.

Ward councillor Bonginkosi Shange said that even the fire-fighters who had been called to the scene, were puzzled.

"One female fire-fighter just about wet herself when the fire started right in front of her eyes and said she had never seen anything like this. Just this morning we have put out at least three different fires," he said.

Joe Nzimande, a community leader said, "The problem is that no other community members want to accommodate the family because they think this fire will follow them there."

Musa Ndlovu, of the Richmond municipality disaster management team, said the team has organised counselling for the family.

He added, "This family has been heavily traumatised.

"This kind of fire is not a normal fire. It is something that we have never seen before." - news24

Russian scientists expect to meet aliens by 2031

Russian scientists expect humanity to encounter alien civilizations within the next two decades, a top Russian astronomer predicted on Monday.

"The genesis of life is as inevitable as the formation of atoms... Life exists on other planets and we will find it within 20 years," Andrei Finkelstein, director of the Russian Academy of Sciences' Applied Astronomy Institute, was quoted by the Interfax news agency as saying.

Speaking at an international forum dedicated to the search for extraterrestrial life, Finkelstein said 10 percent of the known planets circling suns in the galaxy resemble Earth.

If water can be found there, then so can life, he said, adding that aliens would most likely resemble humans with two arms, two legs and a head.

"They may have different colour skin, but even we have that," he said.

Finkelstein's institute runs a program launched in the 1960s at the height of the Cold War space race to watch for and beam out radio signals to outer space.

"The whole time we have been searching for extraterrestrial civilizations, we have mainly been waiting for messages from space and not the other way," he said. - torontosun

Acoustic cloak to hide ships from sonar

A new design for sound cloaking brings us one step closer to hiding ships from sonar and designing new kinds of concert halls.

The new sound shield is made of a stack of plastic sheets that have an intricate pattern of holes poked through them. When sound waves encounter the structure, they get re-routed in a specific path through the maze of holes and plastic plates. The result: instead of bouncing off the structure, as they would if they encountered any other obstacle, the waves keep on keepin' on, as if the device and the object under it were never there.

Because of this behavior, anything that hid under this device would go undetected by traditional sonar.

"Invisibility cloaks" have been in the news since 2006, when scientists proposed that they could design synthetic materials that would bend light in ways that made the objects under them appear invisible. Three years ago, Steve Cummer at Duke University figured out that the same principle could be applied to sound waves, and his lab has now brought out their first physical proof of the idea.

"Fundamentally, in terms of hiding objects, it's the same — how anything is sensed is with some kind of wave and you either hear or see the effect of it," Cummer told BBC News. "But when it comes to building the materials, things are very different between acoustics and electromagnetics."

The first-ever sound cloak, inspired by Cummer's 2008 proposal, was built at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in January this year. That design works for inaudible ultrasound frequencies that are traveling under water. But Cummer's new device works for sounds that are traveling in air, in the frequency range between one and four kilohertz. (This corresponds to the last two octaves on the high end of the piano, BBC News explains.)

In addition to shielding ships from sonar, the new structure could be used to coat walls and soundproof rooms. With some fine-tuning to the design, the device could also be used to enhance the acoustics of concert halls. - msnbc

New Erickson Project News: Bigfoot DNA Project Using Two Dead Bigfoot Bodies for Samples

Robert Lindsay posted the following interview:

I was recently put into touch with a hunter from Western North America who is quite well known in his field. You might even say that he is famous. He and others were the subject of a recent book, and he often gives talks at various forums. He was formerly employed at America's foremost science museum but is no longer working there.

He is considered to be at the top of his field, which I will not reveal here. He was recently described as "the doyen of North American [name of field withheld]." He is also a hunter and travels around North America hunting. He especially likes to hunt bears. This puts him in touch with many other hunters. He is also active on taxidermy boards. He has deep ties to the Erickson Project and the Olympic Project.

The interview lasted 2 1/2 hours and was conducted by phone. It was not tape recorded. The conversation was transcribed based on my memory, and the subject's statements were put into my own words. This is why the interviewer and interviewee use similar language. The interviewee was given a copy of the interview with the right to change any language he wishes to if he felt he was misquoted.

He will be known anonymously as Bear Hunter in this article, as he only talked to me on the grounds that his identity was kept secret.

Robert Lindsay: Hi, what made you decide to get in touch with me?

Bear Hunter: Well, I read your article where you interviewed Richard Stubstad, and I thought, "Wow! This guy is hot on the trial! He's really close. He's closing in. So I decided to fill in some blanks for you."

RL: Is there a reason why you decided to spill the beans on this hot news to me just now?

BH: Yes, I am getting very impatient with the pace of this project. You know, it's always coming out this year, then next year, then this year again, then next year again, then this spring. I'm getting tired of it. I want to jumpstart this project and tell them to get going and finish it up.

RL: You say you have some blockbuster news regarding the Erickson Project Bigfoot DNA study, right?

BH: Yes I do. This all started from a thread on Taxidermy.net, a website where I hang out. There are sometimes threads on Bigfoots, and in this one thread, in November 2010, a guy said that he had just shot two Bigfoots! The guy is a trapper, a taxidermist and a hunter. This was huge news of course, and pretty soon there were lots of followup posts. Somehow the guy's name and number got out, and there were reports of people bothering him and harassing him. He asked the webmaster, George Ruff, to shut down the thread. George shut it down.

Well, afterward, I got in touch with the guy and talked to him for a while. Adrian Erickson, Matt Moneymaker and Tyler Huggins all got involved. Moneymaker and Huggins are with the BFRO (Bigfoot Field Research Organization). Erickson had heard of Bigfoots getting shot; actually, he has lots a number of stories from Canada where they get shot pretty regularly. But, as he put it, "I've never been two weeks behind a shooting before." Everybody was scrambling after this guy!

RL: How was it that the Bigfoots came to be shot, and were they killed?

BH: In November 2010, [name withheld] (RL: I know the name of the man who shot the Bigfoots, but I am refusing to release it right now for my own reasons.) was hunting on the border between Nevada and California, inside California, near a game refuge. (RL: Based on my investigation, it took place in or near the Dixie Mountain Game Refuge west of Frenchman Lake on the Plumas National Forest in Plumas County. It borders Washoe County in Nevada. See a map here).

On one side of the game refuge, there was this single road in a canyon leading into and out of the refuge. Bigfoots were apparently using the game refuge, since they are safe from hunters there.

The guy was on this road when he came upon a large dirty-white (RL: female) Bigfoot standing in the road. Since the narrow road was the only route in and out of the place, the Bigfoots were forced to use this road whether they wanted to or not. The Bigfoot was standing there waving her arms at him. I thought maybe she was telling the hunter to back up so the Bigfoot could move through, since the Bigfoot was stuck on the road, no?

The guy stopped his truck, jumped out, and shot the Bigfoot with a 25.06. He shot her again through the side of her chest, piercing her lungs. The Bigfoot fell down dead. (RL: The hunter says the Bigfoot took off into the brush, but he heard her crash down soon afterward. The hunter shot her because he thought she was a bear standing upright).

Next thing he knew, he heard loud barking sounds coming from the side of the road. There were two young Bigfoots there that popped up out of nowhere. They were brown-colored. For some reason, the hunter shot one of the young Bigfoots dead! He's an idiot, right?

(RL: The hunter said that two small creatures, "half-bear and half-ape," appeared sometimes on two legs and sometimes on four legs. They got aggressive with him and moved very close to him. At one point, one got on a ledge above him and seemed to be threatening it. He shot it out of fear it was going to attack him.)

It died in his arms. 4 feet tall, 80 pounds. He said it had a huge head, and then I knew it was a young Bigfoot, because the young ones have gigantic heads while they are still young. The head is more normal sized as they get older. Remember that "Pancake Video" from the Kentucky Project, where the young Bigfoot has a huge head that everyone was saying was a human with some birth defect? Well, that is what they look like when they are young.

Have you seen the Jacobs footage that they say is a mangy bear?

RL: Yes, what is it? A bear?

BH: No way. It's a juvenile Bigfoot. You can tell by the head. Look at how huge that head is. And the neck. The thing has no neck. I know bears. I love bears. No way is that a bear.

RL: What did he do with the Bigfoots?

BH: He told us that he left them lying there. There was snow on the ground, so we figured that there might still be enough time to go in and get the bodies. Pretty soon though, we figured out that the guy was lying. He took the bodies, because taxidermists never leave anything they shoot in the field. (RL: The hunter says he left the dead/wounded Bigfoots in the field.)

RL: What happened to the dead Bigfoots?

BH: Well, we put the hunter in contact with the Olympic Project that is working on Bigfoots in Washington State. We didn't hear much for a while, only that the OP folks kept saying, "We are just trying to keep [name withheld] out of jail." The hunter was convinced that if California figured out he shot these two Bigfoots, he was going to jail. He was really afraid of going to jail.

RL: Ok, then?

BH: Moneymaker and the BFRO were in on this too. It was a mad rush for those bodies!

We didn't hear much more for a while until the Olympic Project starting sending samples to Melba Ketchum for her DNA project as part of the Erickson Project. Some of the samples that they were getting were of tissue, and they looked like they were carved off a dead body!

(RL: One sample appeared to be carved off of the thigh of a human or hominid cadaver. Dr. Ketchum was so freaked out by the sample that she called people up asking them to hold it for her in case the police came to her lab, because she was afraid of going to jail.)

Some of the samples had dirty white hair, and the others had brown hair. It was obvious that the Olympic Project was sending Ketchum samples carved from the bodies of the two dead Bigfoots! Isn't that incredible?

RL: Who has the Bigfoots, the hunter or the Olympic Project?

BH: I think that the hunter still has the bodies. He has probably cut them up, cut off the heads and has them on ice. They can last a long time like that. I don't think that the OP wants to mess with the bodies themselves, and I don't think the hunter is going to give them up. (RL: The hunter says he left the bodies in the field. The Olympic Project says they went back to the scene two weeks later and found pieces of one of the Bigfoots, the remains of the carnage from the shootings, which they used to make slices for the samples.)

We did a lot more digging, and we found that now the hunter is associated deeply with the OP. He's part of their project. Of course the OP will not admit to anything. They deny it all, and they say they have no dead Bigfoots, and they don't have access to any. But they're lying. It's not true. (RL: The OP says they are not lying.)

RL: Incredible news!

BH: Yes, there are some more things too. Notice how the Olympic Project is all over the Internet boards talking about how they have enough Bigfoot samples to last for years? Guess why they say that? Because they have access to two dead Bigfoot bodies!

RL: Too much…Do you know about any leaks from the Erickson Project DNA study?

BH: Yes, I do. They are very close to humans. Say if chimpanzees are 2 clicks away from humans, these things are maybe 3/4 of a click away.

RL: Ok, and they are in the Homo line?

BH: Yes, I am sure of that. Recall that say 50,000 YBP, there were maybe five different hominids on the planet. Homo sapiens sapiens, Homo erectus, Homo Floresiensis, Denisova, Homo heidelbergensis and Neandertal Man. All of these other hominids are gone. What happened to them?

RL: We killed them all.

BH: Yes, we killed them all. So the only thing that could survive was something that was huge, very stealthy and wary, hated humans, favored the most remote areas, had the use of bad smell to ward off enemies, used infrasound or an intense EMF field to paralyze and disorient enemies, was very strong and had a very thick skin that was hard to penetrate. They're the ultimate survivors of our genocidal wars.

RL: Do you think they are humans or apes?

BH: I don't know. You know Bindernagel wrote that book, America's Great Ape, but then after he saw the Bigfoots in Kentucky, he changed his mind. Now he thinks that they are hominids. But I know one fellow who saw one face to face on a trail. He said it's ape-like, it's an ape-man. So who knows?

RL: Do you have any info on the Kentucky Project?

BH: I do. Erickson bought that place, and he got a lot of great video out of there. He installed Dennis Pfohl and Leila Hadj-Chikh there, and they shot quite a bit of Bigfoot video. Erickson said he had so much good Bigfoot video that he was getting tired of taking pictures of them. At one point, he brought Bindernagel down there to see the Bigfoots. Bindernagel was able to see them. He also wanted to bring John Green down there, but he was very sick with prostate cancer and could not make it.

A friend of mine saw the famous video of the young female Bigfoot walking in the forest. She walks towards the camera, then sees the camerawoman, growls and turns away. He said there is no way that this could be a costume, forget it. They also shot video of a huge male at that site, but everyone is keeping very quiet about that.

RL: Did the Kentucky Project get any samples too?

BH: Yes they did. You know they had this area in the backyard where they were feeding the Bigfoots every night. They would leave food out for them. Well, they super-glued glass shards to the feeding table where the food was. The Bigfoots came to get the food and the tips of their fingers got cut. They got a lot of blood that way.

RL: Do you believe that Erickson is in it for the money?

BH: I get tired of hearing this. Erickson has sunk $3 million of his own money into this thing. $3 million! He hasn't made one nickel back.

RL: Do you have any information about Erickson's movie about Bigfoot?

BH: Yes, it's finished! 100% completed. They are just waiting for the DNA study to finish up, and I have no word on that yet.

RL: Do you know if Dr. Ketchum has any TV or film interests in the works?

BH: Yes, she is involved with National Geographic. They want to do a special on Bigfoot, and she is involved in that.

RL: What's the relationship between Bigfoots and trappers?

BH: Bigfoots hang out along traplines and raid the traplines. I heard of one case where a Bigfoot got caught in a trap. The Bigfoot got himself out of the trap by bending the solid steel! Unbelievable!

RL: You say you hear a lot of stories of Bigfoots getting killed?

BH: Yes, I get a story about every 2 months. They range from recent to pretty far back in time. There are many stories coming out of Canada too. Erickson also has many stories. It's the same story every time. People kill it, and it looks so much like a human being that they leave it in the field because they are afraid they are going to be prosecuted for murder.

RL: I say that if you believe in Bigfoot, you must also believe in a few things. 1) People are shooting at and killing these things fairly regularly. 2) There must be a government coverup. 3) We are photographing and videotaping Bigfoots on a fairly regular basis.

BH: I agree. As far as a government coverup, of course the government must know about these things. And I know that the timber industry knows about them. And people shoot them all the time.

There was a recent case in Alberta where the Fish and Wildlife people were poisoning wolves. They are supposed to tell trappers about this, but they didn't in this case. A trapper found a dead wolf partly eaten and huge tracks leading away from it. The tracks were of a Bigfoot that had been poisoned by eating the wolf. The guy tracked it for a while but then lost the trail.

He reported it to the Game people, but they paid him $20,000 to shut him up. They kept saying, "So, you lost 5 cougar dogs tracking that thing. That's worth about $20,000." He hadn't lost any cougar dogs. He finally figured out they were offering him money to shut him up, so he took the money.

RL: What's the motivation for the coverup?

BH: In Canada, I know they are worried about resource lockup. They are afraid it will shut down logging. I know that up there, as soon as there is a Bigfoot sighting, the timber people will get word of it and come in and clearcut the area. They do that to drive the Bigfoot off, because they don't want the Bigfoot on their logging land. They're afraid it will keep them from logging the land.

RL: Do you think Bigfoots are getting habituated to humans in any way?

BH: Yes, a friend of mine in Alberta told me about a Bigfoot that was living on the outskirts of the Edmonton dump, living off the garbage, foraging food out of the trash. People tracked the thing way back into a remote area and found its nest. All sorts of stuff from the dump had been hung in trees 8-10 feet up, bicycles, chairs, you name it. The Bigfoot was decorating its home with that stuff.

RL: Wow!

BH: Yes, I have so many stories. When I go to give my talks, I always say if you have any Bigfoot stories, come up and talk to me afterward. Every time, people come up to talk to me. All sorts of people. They haven't told many others about their sightings, and every case, they have not reported it to any private or public agency.

One guy told me how he was hunting in a swamp in the Southeast US, and he passed out from the swamp gas. The stuff can overwhelm you and make you pass out.

He woke up, and he was next to a spring. There was a huge 8-foot Bigfoot crouched down next to him, offering a cup of water from the spring. The cup had been hanging from the spring. People sometimes hang metal cups from springs. He took a drink, passed out again, and then woke up again later on. The Bigfoot was still there, and it offered him another drink. He drank it and passed out again. He woke up the third time, and the Bigfoot was gone.

RL: Do you think that tracking dogs are good for tracking Bigfoots, say in order to capture one? Jeff Meldrum has been talking about that a lot lately.

BH: I think dogs are useless when it comes to tracking these things. You know, I am a hunter, and I use tracking dogs all the time. We take people out on guided hunts, and I hunt myself all the time using guides. Dogs will track anything, but they won't track these things. The meanest dog on Earth will be left pissing, shivering and whimpering by his master's legs.

I knew one guy who sent six dogs after a Bigfoot. Only five of them came back; the sixth was torn up. The other five dogs were so traumatized that they were useless as trackers. They would never track another animal again. And these were good tracking dogs.

RL: What do you think of Bigfoots' use of infrasound?

BH: I am not sure that they use infrasound. You see, all animals have an EMF field that they give off, and these things do too. One of my theories is that these things have a very strong EMF field that they give off, and they may be able to manipulate it. One thing you notice is that when these things are around, everything goes quiet, and most of the animals around take off. That's because of the strong EMF field that the Bigfoots give off. It scares the crap out of other animals.

I know that they use this field to disorient people. Erickson said he was being chased out of the forest in Canada by one once, and he was so disoriented and delirious that he had to keep looking at the moss on the trees, because you know, moss only grows on the north? That's because the Bigfoot was disorienting him so much that he kept getting lost.

I am going to test this theory out by buying an outfit that they sell for $100. It neutralizes your own EMF field. Supposedly, you can wear it and walk right up to animals and touch them.

RL: Do you think Bigfoots avoid trailcams? Some people say that they avoid those cameras.

BH: They do avoid them as a matter of fact. The thing is that they can hear the cams. The cams give off a lot of noise. It's at a low frequency that humans can't hear, but the Bigfoots can hear it. Other animals can hear it too, but they are not as wary as Bigfoots. For instance, some of your great big trophy deer won't go near one. Bigfoots can hear them for quite a ways away, and they just stay away from them. The manufacturers know that the cams give off a lot of noise, and they are working now to reduce the noise that they give off.

RL: Were you always a Bigfoot believer?

BH: Not at all. I was a skeptic until five years ago. Then I started looking into this thing, and all of these people started coming forward, including people I had known for years and trusted completely. I started getting swamped with these stories, even people I had known a long time had stories, but they had never told me! I dove into it, started doing a lot of research, and soon it became completely obvious that these things exist. People can ridicule me all they want to, and they do, believe me. But I don't care; I know they are real.

RL: Have you met any skeptics who saw one?

BH: Many times. And a lot of them were hardcore skeptics. But then they saw a Bigfoot, and they all changed over to believers. They said that their lives were changed completely. - Robert Lindsay

Derek Randles, founder of the Olympic Project, offers further information:

OK, it's time to put a few things to rest. I just spoke to the "bear hunter", who is also my friend. He is beside himself because of all the BS being spread. He's asked me to clarify a few things here on this forum. First of all, he is not a poacher. I repeat, not a poacher. Second, it was bear season and he was hunting in a legal area with a bear tag. Please don't ask me these things again. That's the truth. Third, he has not killed 1000 bears. He's killed 3 in his lifetime. Yes 3, not 1000. It's also very important to note, he never gave Sasquatch a second thought. He was a complete skeptic. Because of his unfamiliarity with the Bigfoot subject he had no idea of what he was looking at through his riffle site. He assumed that it was a very strange looking bear that was standing on it's hind legs. In his mind that's all it could have been, a bear. When the bullet hit its mark, it started to become apparent that it wasn't a bear. It did not drop right there, it ran off. They thought they heard it crash in the brush but did not see it go down. Things started getting very weird at this point. Two smaller creatures appeared from the brush, sometimes on two feet, and sometimes on all fours. In his description they looked like a cross between an ape and a bear. They got very close to him and at one point one positioned itself above him on a outcrop. He shot it out of fear of being attacked. Probably the same thing I would have done in the given circumstance. When I'm in the wilderness I always pack a gun to protect my self from wild, sometimes unpredictable animals. There are a few times I thanked God I had it. This was starting to feel like a nightmare to him and he quickly left trying to wrap his mind around what had just happened.

It's very important to note that he doesn't feel good about this incident. As a matter of fact he felt terrible. This was a case of miss-identification plane and simple.

At a later date a search was carried out at the site and a piece of flesh was recovered. NOT A BODY, only a small piece of flesh witch was later cut in two pieces, hence the cut line. I'll say it one more time, no body's were found or recovered.

It's very unfortunate that this happened, but hopefully some good will come out of it. I'm probably going to have a whole bunch of people mad at me for talking about this, but my first obligation is to the bear hunter. He's my friend and I gave him my word that I'm there for him. He wanted me to convey this message, so take it or leave it, it's the truth. - DR
