| Posted: 12 Dec 2010 02:09 PM PST A Mother's Poltergeist Fears  Student midwife Holly Taylor and her two-year-old daughter Willow will no longer sleep at the apartment in Pemberton town centre after a terrifying series of events. And few people the 22-year-old has told are doubting her because many have witnessed ghostly goings-on too. The building stands on the site of the former Pemberton Police Station in Ormskirk Road, which had a reputation for being haunted. An officer who used to work there today confirmed the station was notorious for unexplained footsteps and doors banging, and that the culprit was believed to be the ghost of an inspector who hanged himself in a cell. In the last four months Holly has experienced: Plates flying off the kitchen work surface and smashing on the floor; Ornaments and other objects being moved around or knocked over while she is out; Footsteps and the front door being opened despite her having the only key; All the flat's lights being switched back on after she has gone to bed; The electric smoke alarm going off randomly; Drawers in Willow's bedroom being opened and emptied while the tot sleeps. Holly said: "I love this place and I don't want to move, but something needs to be done to give me peace. "It is scary what is going on but I also feel like my privacy is being invaded. "I have spoken to several people and some have experienced or heard of things happening here when it was the police station. "The lady in the next flat said that a cup had flown at her out of a cupboard once but she had tried to convince herself that it was some kind of accident. The man down the corridor says he has heard footsteps while there's no-one there. "I've heard about the hanged policeman, but also about a child who might have died even before it was a police station." Holly moved into the flat in June, and says that while she had occasional uneasy feelings over the first few weeks, the first dramatic incident took place one August evening when she and boyfriend Jordan O'Neill were watching TV and Willow was asleep. It was while a trailer for the movie The Last Exorcism was on screen that Holly said, "I'm not watching that", and turned away to see several plates in the kitchen crash to the floor In late October, Holly was in the flat on her own. She said: "I tidied up, switched off all the lights and went to bed at midnight. "I had become scared of the dark since moving in, so as soon as I was in my bedroom, I turned on the telly for comfort and went to sleep with it on. "I was woken up at 3am by the sound of the front door opening and thought someone was in the house. "I rang the police on my mobile and when I came out of the bedroom to answer the door to them, I found all the lights had been switched on, and the security chain, which I had fastened before going to bed, was hanging down and still swinging. "I was convinced someone had been in my flat so I rang the letting agents Reeds Rains the next day. I wanted to know who else had a key, but they assured me no one else did. "I am getting so paranoid that I am beginning to take pictures of things in the flat on my mobile before I go out to see whether they've moved when I get back. "My mum (Diane McKay) felt a presence very early on, and refuses to babysit here." Reeds Rains is on the ground floor of the building and staff know about the hauntings. Negotiator Denise Edge said: "I've not seen or heard anything but other people have. "Our mortgage adviser was in on his own the other week and had locked up before doing some work when he heard footsteps. "But when he went to look, no one was there." And the police officer, who asked not to be named, said: "The old Pemberton Police Station had a reputation for being haunted. "Every time there was an unexplained noise around the place, everyone would say 'it's Bert the ghost again'. "There was one officer who refused to be in there on his own." ********** Northeast Connecticut Haunting - SRI Case Description: A family experiencing major activity throughout their home, but especially on the 2nd floor. The client, who is a paranormal investigator, had collected EVP evidence and conversed with the spirits. Alarmed by the recent events, the client contacted me today (after finding the Astral Perception group page on Facebook). Irene and I were able to talk to the client via Skype and speaker phone. The client was instructed to go into the most troubled room on the 2nd floor so Irene could remotely sense the entity. She was able to move the entity away from the client and into an adjoining room. Because the energy of this entity is so high the client could physically tell where it was and told Irene the sensations she felt. As well, I was getting the same electric sensations as the client though I was almost 400 miles away from her. Irene and I suspect this malevolent spirit may have attached itself to the client during one of their recent paranormal investigations. Because of that, the earthbound spirits that were already in or near the house are clashing with this new entity...causing intense disturbance and unusually high energy. We have asked the client to forward the EVPs and to take photos through the house in order to determine what we will be facing. After the evidence has been examined Irene will attempt to remotely clear the house with the assistance of the client and myself. We will post evidence as soon as possible...we're still working other cases. ---------- EVPs were forward by the client...unfortunately, these were of little value to the investigation due to quality and previous editing by the client. The links to this evidence can be found at Northeast Connecticut Haunting - EVP links ---------- Irene and I conducted a remote view on this case on Monday, 12/6/10. Irene set the target coordinates for me and monitored the session. We systematically executed 4 phases in order to perceive the target and to gather as much information possible. In Phase 1, the coordinates (a set of two - four digit numbers) were given to me...from which an ideogram (a graphic symbol that represents an idea or concept) was developed. The target was a chosen point in time which may have been contributing to the problems that where being experienced in the house. This does not mean that this was the actual cause of the problem but that it could have proffered to it. By probing the ideogram, 'descriptors' (the function of describing) were used to determine the nature of the target. Several attempts with the same target coordinates were done in order to get a average assessment. In Phase 2, the target vignette was narrowed by probing for sounds, textures, temperatures, colors, luminescence, contrast and smells. Through this information I was able to focus in on any verticals, horizontals, diagonals, topography, mass and energetics as well as my overall 'feeling' of the target. In Phase 3, I made a rough sketch or drawing of what I was perceiving. At this point, the sketch included a hallway with a stairwell and a small door nearby. There were other open doorways throughout the hallway. In Phase 4, I went into a deeper perception of the target. This included sense, magnitudes, emotions, physicals, subspace and concepts. There were other specifics used...but at this point there was no systematic procedure because the observations are starting to come together into a primary deduction. The overall impression was that there was one entity present at that time, a large man dressed in blue denim overalls. This started at a point where I perceived that this entity (in life) had killed a pet dog because it had attacked him or someone else. The entity was very distraught because of this and walked up and down the hallway, changing emotions throughout...becoming curious and looking into the rooms on one side of the hallway then becoming emotional again when approaching the area where he killed the dog. I also perceived a group of 3 people sitting on the floor in one of the bedrooms. I recognized at least 1 of the people as a girl or young woman and thought the other 2 may have been female as well. I noticed a burning candle which was cone-shaped placed in the middle of the circle created by the 3 seated people. There was a dark apparition floating above the trio and would constantly change shape and clarity. After a few minutes, I heard dogs barking and noticed that the first entity was running down the hallway towards the stairwell and simply vanished through the wall to the outside. It was like the entity had been frightened by something. I realized I was still in the hallway outside the bedroom door when I noticed a entity form nearby. It was a tall thin man dressed in a 1830-40s dress suit with a high top hat...seemed to be English. Then shortly, this clothes changed to those of a American whaler's uniform. The word 'Newburyport' was prominently sensed. He appeared to be a very confident person with a wide grin on his face. He stood by me in the hallway peering into the same bedroom the 3 people were seated. At this point, we stopped the session and discussed the findings. Irene suggested that this house may have been built on a ley line or energy line and that spirits of all sorts where able to move in and out of the property. Irene and I don't feel that these entities are dangerous but are bothersome to the client in the form of astral chatter. I contacted the client who stated that she had witnessed light anomalies in her bedroom between 10-10:30pm and said that the activity then suddenly ceased. It is our opinion that the location is situated on an energy line or ley line (possible multiples) that either runs directly through or near the house. Between 1977 and 1979 this haunting was investigated by one Maurice Grosse who, two years previous had lost his daughter in a crash. He felt that the Enfield mystery was meant for him, but little did he realise just how potent and everlasting the story would remain. The three-bedroom semi-detached house was was run by single parent Peggy Hodgson, and inhabited by her four children. Eleven-year old Janet was the first to recognise strange utterings in the form of odd knocking noises but such disturbances were considerably minor in comparison to what was about to occur. Larger objects in the house began to be pushed around, doors slammed, windows opened, loud banging noises reverberated around the home, alarming the children more and more as they intensified. Then, the unknown shifter of objects dealt a violent blow to one of the young children, a small boy, and WPC Caroline Heaps visited the house, and was shocked to see a chair floating in the middle of a room. Then, things became extremely serious as children, particularly young Janet, were attacked in their beds, strangulation was attempted, bed sheets were strewn and Peggy's nine-year old son Billy had a lucky escape when an iron grate crashed onto his bed as he slept, thrown by an invisible assailant. Despite the serious nature of incidents, many locals believed the 'ghost' to be nothing more than a hoax perpetrated by the family, but the Society of Psychical Research, and leading member Maurice Grosse, suggested something unknown to blame. When Janet, and her sister Margaret began speaking in demonic tongue, the case took a disturbing turn. Pools of water began appearing throughout the house, and in the end more than fifteen separate cases were witnessed by many people. Why Janet was singled out we'll never know, but investigators believed that it was the spirit of an old man who died in the house which may have caused the torment. His name, a Bill Hobbs from Durant's Park graveyard. I was on the Eastside of the building and there's an alley that has small parking lots for all of the apartment buildings on my block along with a good sized hill/field that goes up to a parking lot of a church. I happened to be standing by my car as I noticed a falling star out of the corner of my eye, looking South. As it brought my attention towards that area of the sky, 5 more falling stars shot off in random directions, leaving me excited that I had just seen 5 simultaneous falling stars! Half way through my cigarette, I moved to the front of my building where there was less light to interfere with my view of the clear sky. Standing now on the Westside/front of my building with a full view of the Southern, Western and Northern skies, I was scanning the sky for more spectacular surprises, since about 2 months before, my girlfriend and I both witnessed a star-like UFO, North of town, moving very slowly to the east and upward, disappear. After experiencing that I became more aware of what's going on in the sky, therefore, everytime I'm standing or step out in the front of my building, I automatically look towards the Northern skies to see if what we saw, is there again. I can't help but to look. What I saw in October, was a light evading my view by mimicking a star. It moved very very slowly, upward and to the east, but as it moved behind the view of a lamp post in the grocery store's parking lot across the street of mine, it'd stop dead still and I would have to shift positions of my head to locate it again. I'd move my head further right, it would move left behind the viewing of the lamp post, I'd move my head left to spot it again, it would move right behind the lamp post again...It was off in a distance but still bright and flickering green and purple, sometimes dimming for moments, a very redish orange color, then flickering again. At that point I ran inside, woke my girlfriend to look at this "light." As soon as we step outside, it was still there but motionless and less actively flickering. It looked like a normal star in the sky. My girlfriend sort of got angry that I woke her and said "It's not moving. It's a star! I think you're just seeing things..." I insisted she keep her eyes glued to this "star" because I had a feeling it would display the show it was for me, again. A minute or so pass by and next thing you know, this light starts moving towards the east and up again, still at a very slow speed, almost as if it were gliding. My girlfriend in excitement and confusion said "It looks like it moved over to the right a little!" Within seconds from her saying that, this light stopped dead in its track, elevated by a small amount and disappeared. I literally felt like falling over and it scared her to wanting to go back inside right away to "hide." I regained myself but I was very speechless at what had happened. It left me with a feeling that it knew we/I could see it, and it moving out of my view was a way to "cloak" itself from my sight because like I said, I felt it knew I was watching it. Very creepy. On the morning of December 10th, as I described above, after I moved to the Westside of my building with the South, West and North in my view, I looked to the Northern skies. I took notice right away to a flicker, high in elevation. As I focused in on where it came from, I noticed what at first appeared to be a plane slowly floating along, again towards the East but at a very slow speed. I'm not good at determining distances in the sky, but it was pretty far up, high enough to be a plane. I stayed glued to it but noticed sort of a lag in its flashes. It would flash but not on time, as a plane or helicopter would like on a tick of a clock. As soon as it would flash and go black, it would flash again a second or so later but it would be slightly behind its initial flashes. While it continued East, there are trees in my neighbors' yard that would have obscurred its view. On one of the trees, there's a very large branch that sticks outwards towards the West, therefore, the direction of this light would first go behind that branch then re-appear in a small space of the tree, before it disappears behind all of the branches and twigs, etc. At the speed it was moving I stayed focused because it was odd and I was certain it wasn't a plane after its strange characteristics of speed and flashes. As soon as it moved behind the large branch that was poking out of the tree, I waited for it to re-appear in the small space. It should've taken a second or two, to get past the branch's cover, but nothing. I was in denial at that point, thinking "No, this can't be happening again! WTF?!" running towards the street just to spot this light again. I looked toward the direction it was going, but seconds later, I noticed it again, but way higher in altitude but the odd thing was it was a solid red light, sitting still and then finally disappearing after a couple seconds later! I again, ran inside to wake up my girlfriend, but as I entered the bedroom, she appeared to be "awake" already with her face, facing the door way and her eyes wide open. I asked if she was ok, but got no response, I walked up to her and shook her a little and asked again, but still no response and still a dead stare! That added more creepiness to what I had just seen, but then she finally rolled over and just said, "It's hot in here" then back to sleep. She had no recollection of being "awake" when I went in there or even talking to me, but seeing her with her eyes wide open for a good couple of seconds staring off into nowhere, made me feel a bit uncomfortable with the events I've witnessed. My heart at that point was pounding , I moved to each window of the apartment looking out to see if I could see anything in the sky again. I get to my kitchen window which faces the west and looked out. As soon as I took view to the western skies, I notice an odd "light", which at first, I thought was a helicopter because F.E. Warren Airforce Base is out West of town and I always see helicopters going to and from there or in that direction. I kept my sight on it moving at different rates of speed towards the North, starting at a really high altitude but then lowering as it moved along. As it lowered some more, it disappeared, again... A couple seconds pass and it re-appears higher in altitude, somewhat in the same area it disappeared at. It again started floating along, blinking at random times moving first down in elevation again, and then much higher than it was, and then coming to a complete stop in the North/Western skies. I watched it sit still, and vividly blink red at random times for about a minute, and as seconds went by after so, the blinking was gone, and I was staring at the black of the sky again. I closed up all of the blinds and went straight to bed, because of how uncomfortable that entire event turned out to be. I have a feeling that these objects/lights know that we can see them because of their evasive manuevers to get out of sight. If I wouldn't have been looking around those nights or if I wouldn't have focused in on those particular lights, it makes me wonder if they would have ever moved position in the first place. It's pretty odd stuff and makes me feel like I'm somewhat "connected" now that I keep seeing these strange things. MUFON CMS - Little America, Wyoming - 12/11/2010 - unedited: I was driving back to colorado from idaho, got tired and decided to stop off at little america (Little America, Wyoming). reclined in my seat for almost two hours, couldn't sleep so i decided to start driving. I immediately noticed this star like figure in the eastern sky. I've seen this same figure many years ago as a teenager in Idaho more than once. I knew it wasn't a star because it was too close to the ground and way too bright. I also noticed it moving when i would stop the car, it would go back and forth from one side of I-80 to the other. I tried to keep up with the other cars because i've never felt so terrified, I felt like it was there for me for some reason, only because this isn't the only time that i've seen it. My brother and my grandmother have also seen this before. My heat was on inside my car but all that i could feel was cold. i was stopping at every exit because i couldn't stay awake, i would drink coffee and red bull but could only continue to drive for only twenty minutes at a time. every time i would stop it would move closer but when i would continue driving, it would go off into the distance. i finally couldn't drive any longer so i pulled off at a truck stop at rock springs and once again reclined me seat to try to sleep. i could see it moving south as i fell asleep, it was my last image of this star like figure. when i was sleeping, i was dreaming about it and a man that i have never seen before. in my dream, the man kept repeating that he was the reason that i could not bear children that they had other plans for me. i remember trying to wake from this dream but could not, and once again have never been so terrified. also, when i was driving, a friend of mine was sending me text messages but for some period i quit receiving these messages. when they finally came through, i had three missed messages at different times, but i remember checking my phone frequently and never did lose service. after sleeping for three hours i woke up to continue driving. even though i could no longer see the object, i still could only drive about twenty to thirty minutes at a time, i was drained of energy. i had to pull over and sleep for one or two hours every twenty to thirty minutes. a drive that would normally only take me less than five hours took me more than twelve hours because i just didn't have the energy to continue. i've made this same drive several times and was sick with severe anemia from cancer before and still was never this tired. in fact it's still hours later and i don't feel like i have any energy just yet, but i did notice i have three blister like sores on my neck in the shape of a triangle, very painful. don't know if they have anything to do with my sighting or my fatigue but don't want to dismiss it just yet. Also, i tried to stop and take pictures of the object, but it seems like every time i would stop and get my phone ready to take pictures, the object would become very dim. and according to my call log, i called my husband at 5:24 am to tell him about what i was seeing. ********** Kids Getting High On Nutmeg abcactionnews - There are new concerns for parents, as a common household spice is now being abused by teenagers to get high. Video of kids smoking, eating and drinking large quantities of nutmeg to get high can be found all over YouTube.com. According to various online reports, Nutmeg contains Myristicin, a compound that can cause euphoria and hallucinations. Potential side effects from getting high off Nutmeg include: vomiting, dizziness and convulsions. When shown some of the YouTube videos, random people on the street were shocked to hear this was happening. "What other kind of seasoning could you possibly try to smoke or sniff? What else could they get their hands on? It's kind of scary to hear about that," said Emily Felgenhauer. A small amount of nutmeg in your recipes or on top of some egg nog is not harmful. Users consume the spice in high quantities to feel negative effects. But because most homes have the spice in a pantry or kitchen, it's easy to obtain, and has become an easy target for those kids attempting to get high. *********** Fiji Children Affected By Mysterious Viral Disease xinhuanet - Fiji's Ministry of Health has confirmed that a mystery viral illness affecting young children has been found in the island nation, local newspaper Fiji Times reported here Sunday. The ministry's media officer Peni Namotu was quoted as saying that there was now an outbreak of the illness which left local doctors baffled as they await test results of the virus from a laboratory in Australia. He said children who suffered the illness had high fever, rashes or blisters on their hands, soles of the feet and around the mouth and in severe cases, suffered seizure or fits. "The disease usually begins with a fever, poor appetite, malaise (feeling vaguely unwell), and often with a sore throat," he added. According to Namotu, "there have been about 20-30 cases per month for October and November seen in the children's hospital and health centres with a handful requiring admissions because of associated seizure (fits), high fever and other complications." ********** Road Through Yeti Territory Excites Locals hindustantimes - Locals here have for ages lived in awe of a 'monster' called China. They are now wary of being haunted by another — the mythical Himalayan yeti. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is developing a road through Bhutan to have faster access to the western district of Tawang, around 550 km northeast of Assam capital Guwahati. In close proximity to this road is Bhutan's Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary — a 650 sq km reserve created specifically to protect the habitat of the yeti or abominable snowman, known in Bhutan as the migoi, or strong man. This road via Udalguri in Assam connects the Bhutanese district of Trashigang before terminating at Tawang. "This road is expected to be completed in three years," Tawang deputy commissioner Gamli Padu said. There is a sense of fear among the locals. But they are enthused by the possibility of this unseen mythological monster, known for scaring campers, boosting tourism in Tawang. "We fear the yeti," says Tawang-based trader Yishe Jungney. "But we know it means no harm unlike them," he added, pointing towards Tibet. The BRO, though, has refused to talk about the road through the tiny Buddhist country. "We are only working on a shortcut to Tawang that reduces travel from Guwahati by 93 km," said a senior officer of the 14 Border Roads Task Force based in Tenga, 205 km south of Tawang.  |
| Mysterious Cattle Mutilations in Meagher County, Montana Posted: 12 Dec 2010 02:10 PM PST  greatfallstribune - There were just a few drops of blood around the cow — hardly what was expected considering the tongue and udder were removed and the flesh and tissue scraped clean to the bone. In the days before its death, the cow showed no signs of being sick. The tongue and udder looked like they had been cut with precision — not ripped as a predator would do. "I reached out to everybody I know to try to get an explanation," Meagher County Sheriff Jon Lopp said. "Everybody's got a theory — from insects to UFOs. I've actually read a lot about it. I'm still as confused as I was when I started." Though this incident was the first time Lopp has seen a cow mutilated in such a strange manner, it's been going on elsewhere for decades. In England, accounts of mutilated cows, horses and goats date back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The first reports in America surfaced in Pennsylvania and Kansas in the 1960s. Montana's first known similar incident was a Sand Coulee steer in late August 1974. By December 1977, sheriff's deputies had investigated 67 mutilation cases in Cascade, Judith Basin, Chouteau, Teton and Pondera counties. The hallmarks of these incidents are the almost surgically precise removal of reproductive organs, udders, anuses, teats and tongues with very little bleeding. Flesh around the jaw often is removed, exposing the mandible. Sometimes, internal organs are removed with no obvious points of entry. Lopp found no human or animal tracks around the dead cow, and no signs of a struggle — just like in the other mutilated cow cases. However, the ground was hard when the cow was discovered in late October, and there was no snow on the ground. After asking around, Lopp learned of another Meagher County rancher who several years ago had three cows die in a similar fashion within a few months of each other. Over the years, explanations have included the legendary Chupacabra, extraterrestrials, secretive government programs and satanic cults. Montana Department of Livestock Brands Enforcement Administrator John Grainger has a more earthly explanation — magpies and coyotes. Grainger investigated several cow mutilation cases while he was the Roosevelt County Sheriff, before he started working for the state. He said that an errant bullet can strike a cow during hunting season, but it might take weeks for the animal to die of blood loss or infection. "Magpies are very specific and precise," Grainger added. "They can take out an eye very closely. They can't eat through the hide, but I've seen them hollow out an area around a bullet hole." The missing body parts are the first to be consumed because they are the softest and tastiest, according to livestock inspector Mark Feist, who covers Meagher County. "It's kind of like candy for predators," he said. "As far as I can tell what it was were animals chewing on them. I've never seen a Martian come down and do it, if that's what you're asking." The federal government reached the same conclusion in a 297-page report following a four-year investigation at the urging of a Colorado senator who said 130 cows were mutilated in his state in 1975. However, that explanation doesn't sit right with Pondera County Sheriff Tom Kuka, who first heard about the strange mutilations while growing up near Valier. "Lots of people have suggested it's birds or bugs," he said. "You wouldn't believe the number of calls I got from people saying it was space aliens with vaporizers or some creature like Bigfoot. "I've never really formed an opinion as to how they died or why. ... There's just something strange about it," Kuka added. Pondera County is a historic hotspot for mutilated cattle. About 15 such cases were reported in 2001 and 2002 in the county, and another five were reported in the neighboring counties of Cascade and Glacier. The Department of Livestock doesn't track cattle mutilations, leaving it to individual county sheriffs to investigate. Considering a cow typically is sold for $1,200, the crime is investigated as felony criminal mischief. Though both have since left the Pondera Sheriff's Office, Dick Dailey and Dan Campbell collected photos and evidence on Montana cattle mutilations for years, pinpointing each incident on a map. "Nothing about it seemed natural," said Dailey, who worked on ranches in Wyoming and Montana before joining the sheriff's department. "The cuts on them ... if predators were doing it, it would be stringy. These were really smooth cuts." The cows' jaw bones showed no signs of being chewed on and most often the missing hide was on the underside of the animal — where a coyote or bird couldn't get to it. Campbell said he never saw any signs of beetles and maggots, which would take weeks to do that kind of damage. Further adding to the mystery, the men said they tracked coyotes in the area, but the animals wouldn't come within 20 or 30 feet of the carcass. Even grizzly bears readying for hibernation stayed away from the decomposing cattle. One cow found shortly after it died was tested by the Las Vegas Institute of Science. Dailey said it had high amounts of a government-controlled sedative in its blood stream. Both men said they are certain there are cattle mutilations that go unreported — either ranchers dismiss them as natural or think there's nothing law enforcement can do. Campbell said ranchers in other counties and Canada have often called him, frustrated that area officers won't investigate mutilations. "I'm sure among law enforcement we were at the butt end of every joke," he said. "It's a felony crime and to push that into a box just isn't right." Years later, another Pondera County cattle mutilation left an intriguing clue. A few feet south of the carcass was a foot-deep impression in the stubblefield. There were no drag marks or footprints to the cow's final resting place — as if the bovine had fallen from the sky and then bounced. Now a ranch foreman in Augusta, Campbell is certain animals didn't mutilate the cattle, but he is not willing to leap to any unearthly conclusions. "I don't think it's aliens," he said. "Here in Montana, we've hit just about everything on the road — and I've never hit an alien."
