| Your Take: Government UFO / Alien Disinformation Campaigns Posted: 28 Jul 2010 10:24 PM PDT  The upcoming release of Mark Pilkington's book Mirage Men: An Adventure into Paranoia, Espionage, Psychological Warfare, and UFOs has stirred up a lot of sentiment and conjecture within the UFO community.Pilkington attempts to prove that the U.S. government has been conducting top-secret UFO conspiracy campaigns designed not to hide UFOs but publicize the phenomenon which, in turn, fuels and creates UFO and extraterrestrial myths. Strange flying objects, alien abductions, crashed spacecraft, clandestine underground bases, etc....supposedly concocted by the U.S. government and military. These 'disinformation conspiracy' theories have been around for decades but there has been a recent surge in the discussion, stoked by the numerous blogs and forums only a mouse click away. So...what are your thoughts on these UFO/alien disinformation conspiracy theories? I'd really like to present your arguments and speculation on this subject. The grainy still above was taken from footage filmed in the 1990s by Territorian Jan Donovan. Author Rebecca Lang said the large, sandy cat appeared to be of "considerable size", and could be the descendant of escaped circus cats. Ms Lang and co-author Mike Williams have spent the past five years compiling reports of sighting and collecting photos and video of large cats that resemble leopards and pumas for their book Australian Big Cats: An Unnatural History of Panthers. The earliest account was from 1883 by SA explorer Charles Winnecke. The journal of his exploration on the WA-NT border says Winnecke came across a "wild cat of an extraordinary size". "The brute was nearly as large as a leopard," he wrote. Ms Lang said these cats had a lifespan of 20 years - but the sightings have continued for 150 years. "We know the earliest circus menageries started up around 1850, so it's conceivable that the odd circus cat could have ended up in the bush," she said. Bekkum - STARpod.org, the public website presence for STARstream Research, has posted a 72-page Defense Intelligence Agency SECRET briefing on-line. The DIA STAR GATE briefing document reports that paranormal "psychic vision," referred to as "remote viewing" by the Department of Defense, is, to quote from the document, "a real phenomenon." According to the DIA SECRET document, which was declassified by the CIA a few years ago, investigations of paranormal phenomena led researchers to conclude that "an unusual mechanism may have been observed" with "significant application implications." In addition, the detection of a mechanism behind psychic vision was thought to "shed light on some foreign activities," suggesting that the Intelligence Community was monitoring progress being made in paranormal research elsewhere in the world. Other STAR GATE documents prove that paranormal activities had been conducted across a vast swath of the government, including CIA, DIA, the US Navy, the US Air Force, the US Army, and at least one agency that was redacted from the document. Recently, confidential sources have come forward suggesting the redacted agency may have been the National Security Agency (NSA). According to the sources, following the attacks of 9/11, American intelligence sought the use of psychics to locate Saddam's hideout in Iraq and to locate hidden nuclear locations in Iran. According to the historical record found in the STAR GATE files, the Former Soviet Union (FSU) was involved with their own paranormal activities: US intelligence monitored their work, and, in some cases, attempted to reproduce their experiments. The Missile Intelligence Agency of the U.S. Army was concerned that psychokinesis might be used by an enemy to affect sensitive electronic systems. INSCOM, the Army's Intelligence and Security Command, used psychics to "remote view" and collect intelligence against enemy targets. The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) conducted threat assessments about foreign paranormal operations, looked into counter-psychic methods, and trained psychics to collection intelligence. The U.S. Army Surgeon General funded research at SRI International to "document that psychoenergetic [paranormal] phenomena are real and reproducible, to determine the underlying mechanisms, and to bring psychoenergetics research into the mainstream of human performance research." Magnetoencephalograph (MEG) brain-wave measurement research was conducted by Los Alamos National Laboratory in support of the 1990's era STAR GATE paranormal research. Psychic spy clients included Joint Interagency Forces against suspected drug smuggling operations. Research was eventually moved to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a major defense contractor. According to the report's technical analysis: Noting that "approximately 1 percent of the general population appears to meet strict statistical criteria for exhibiting a robust AC [psychic] ability," the report then notes that SAIC "may have discovered the source of an AC [psychic] signal." "Recent experimental data from the former Soviet Union and similar experiments conducted in this country suggest that the peripheral nervous system may be susceptible to AMP [psychic] influence." "The evidence for a valid information transmission anomaly (anomalous mental phenomena (AC)) [psychic functioning] meets all recognized statistical and methodological criteria. This means the anomaly cannot be explained by poor experimental design, incorrect protocols, faulty analysis, or fraud. The magnitude of this anomaly is considered to be medium- to-large when compared to other known human behaviors." The next paragraph has been blacked out....Gary S. Because it's being used with impressive effect in David Eckhart's case and that experienced and qualified personnel are onboard. The evidence comes from fMRI scans of 11 people's brains as they listened to a woman recounting a story.The scans showed that the listeners' brain patterns tracked those of the storyteller almost exactly, though trailed 1 to 3 seconds behind. But in some listeners, brain patterns even preceded those of the storyteller. "We found that the participants' brains became intimately coupled during the course of the 'conversation', with the responses in the listener's brain mirroring those in the speaker's," says Uri Hasson of Princeton University. Hasson's team monitored the strength of this coupling by measuring the extent of the pattern overlap. Listeners with the best overlap were also judged to be the best at retelling the tale. "The more similar our brain patterns during a conversation, the better we understand each other," Hasson concludes. There was no match between the brain patterns of the storyteller and the listeners, however, when they heard the same story in Russian, which they could not understand. ********** Meteorite Lands on Cricket Pitch During Match  telegraph - However Jan Marszel, 51, and Richard Haynes, 52, were not witnessing a six, but an extremely rare meteor strike.The rock, a few inches long and believed to be up to 4.5 billion years old, broke in two when it hit the ground in front of them close to the pitch. The pair – both Sussex members – were sitting square of the wicket watching the England player Luke Wright bat with Monty Panesar when they spotted the black, five-inch rock hurtling towards them. Mr Marszel, an IT consultant, said: "We were sitting at the boundary edge when all of a sudden, out of a blue sky, we saw this small dark object hurtling towards us. "It landed five yards inside the boundary and split into two pieces. "One piece bounced up and hit me in the chest and the other ended up against the boundary board. "It came across at quite a speed – if it had hit me full on it could have been very interesting." The pair have kept the seemingly extraterrestrial pieces of rock for posterity and said they would be happy for experts to examine them. Retired Mr Haynes, said: "We were quietly supping our pints, both looked up at the same time and saw a black object coming towards us – we didn't know what it was. "If it had come from the other direction we might have suspected someone had thrown it, but we saw it come in straight over the ground from quite a way out – it was definitely a meteorite." Dr Matthew Genge, a meteorite expert at Imperial College, London, said: "If this turns out to be a meteorite it's very exciting and would be the first fall in the UK since 1992. "Potentially it contains secrets as to the formation of our solar system." ********** Teen Survives 16-Storey Fall stuff - A 15-year-old boy who fell from his 16th-floor apartment on Thursday night is now up and about in hospital. He is expected to be discharged on Friday. The boy fell from the top floor of the Proximity Apartments in Manakau City's Amersham Way. He appears to have survived by landing on the corrugated steel roof of a parking building below, which bent and cushioned his fall. Stuff was allowed into a nearby apartment on the 16th floor today and the damaged roof 50 metres below is yet to be repaired. Building manager Jason Epps-Eades says the family involved wants to keep their identity out of public view. "They're long term residents who have been here for about six months." Mr Epps-Eades said police arrived soon after the boy fell. "The police have been and inspected the balcony and they declared it structurally sound," he told Stuff. He said it was not clear what happened. The balcony is chest high to an adult and would be difficult to climb. The top of the balcony is a round steel pipe, anchored to the walls. From outside there appeared to be no damage to the balcony where the boy fell from. A police spokeswoman confirmed they had investigated the fall and were satisfied it was not a building or balcony fault. They are taking no further action. Mr Epps-Eades said the family were with the boy at Middlemore Hospital. "He is getting better quite fast and this morning he got up and went to the bathroom without help," he said. "He was very lucky, its incredible that he survived." The family were relieved but enormously stressed by the event, he said. Mr Epps-Eades said that the apartment management was now under strain - "media flu", he called it. ********** UFO Stuns Pretoria, South Africa Residents news24 - An unidentified flying object (UFO), which apparently consisted of three bright lights, astounded residents from Booysens in Pretoria for two consecutive nights for several hours. Engela van der Spuy, 67, who lived in Attie Street in Booysens, contacted Beeld after she watched the strange set of lights on Thursday night for the second consecutive night. "I'm not saying it's green little space men," said Van der Spuy. "We just really want to know what it is." Van der Spuy for the first time saw the UFO on Wednesday night shortly after sunset in the western sky. "I couldn't make out the shape of the object because the three lights were too bright, but it almost had a heart shape because there were two lights on top, a blue light on the left and an emerald green light directly next to it, on the right side, with a big bright white light underneath it which shone straight down," she said. Dumbfounded According to her, the UFO hung in the air for two hours without moving and then, at about 20:30, slowly started moving down, diagonally to the left and still down, disappearing behind the horizon. On Thursday night, the UFO again appeared shortly after sunset and at 20:30 again started moving down before disappearing. "I called all the neighbours and we looked at it together, but no one could figure out what it could be. All we knew, was that it definitely was not a star or a normal plane." Henrico Swart, 19, Van der Spuy's neighbour, who looked at the UFO through binoculars, was dumbfounded. "It has to have a very strange shape, because even through the binoculars I couldn't make out the shape," said Swart. "All you could see, were three bright lights." On enquiry, spokespeople from the Hercules police station, the Johannesburg Planetarium and the South African Air Force had no knowledge of the incident and were unable to explain the phenomenon. "I don't think it is a flying saucer, because we would've been able to see the saucer shape. This is something even stranger," said Van der Spuy. ********** Welcome to Planet Klingon...qalegh 'oH QaQ 'e' abc - The Jenolan Caves near the Blue Mountains west of Sydney is about to become possibly the first tourist attraction in the world to launch tours in the fictional Star Trek language of Klingon. The link between the world's oldest dated limestone cave system and the fictional Star Trek language is through a spaceship, the USS Jenolan, which featured in an episode of the Next Generation series. Earlier this month two Klingon scholars from the United States flew to Australia to tour the caves and finalise the translation of a self-guided tour. They have recorded it at a Sydney studio and the commentary will be available late next month on a digital audio device. I have heard theories that talk about the crafts we see in our skies being not only alien made but of living material. The theory is that UFO's may be a combination of machine or part machine and part organic. Others think some forms of alien crafts are 100% living creatures . The idea becomes more realistic to me as I watch our own advances in science cross over to applying man made parts into our own organic bodies. We long ago passed over into the world of fake body parts. Hip replacements, knee replacements, pace makers, even breast enhancements are all man made parts inter graded into our human bodies. We have been manipulating our food source with engineered food grown from genetically altered seeds which is on the rise and looks to be our future. We talk about genetically engineered humans or designer babies. It is obvious we are on a rapid path to becoming a species of humans inter graded with machines. Time will tell us how far we take this hybrid road in the future. We have choices of course to use these advances for the good of humanity or to use them to wipe out humanity to something else- something more cold and steal rather than warm and human. I fear this outcome but realize that the human race does not always take the right course of action and understand almost anything is possible as far as our future is concerned. Knowing we are on this road of human , machine technology combination I understand societies far more advanced than we are may also have crossed this path long before us. With that said I do not find it unreasonable to believe the creatures that visit us may be combination's of living material and intelligently designed machine. Those who are far more advanced than we are may have found a way to send living machinery out to do the investigating of the universe. Living machines that may have been developed to use the matter of space as an energy source or food yet intelligent enough to carry out a universal mission. There may be degrees of such machines that travel with large alien inhabited crafts that are able to be released into different atmospheres with ease to gather information or investigate planets closely. It may be the alien equivalent of our guard dogs , security cameras and unmanned planes we send in for spy maneuvers. I received a extremely interesting report from one of my readers concerning an event she experienced that may have been part of this theory in real action. "I live in a small town in West Virginia and was on my way to Huntington WV for a craft show. I was traveling with a friend who was driving. I was in the front passenger seat. We were driving south on old Rt.. 2 along the Ohio River. It was after 6 pm and already dark. Traffic headlights were on. We passed through the area of Apple Grove passing over the railroad tracks . This took us to a long straight stretch of road . We were the only car on this portion of the road and did not notice any cars behind us. The oncoming traffic was quite a distance away . It was a clear day. We were driving with the radio on and the windows up. We were discussing the logistics and setup of our craft booth as we drove.  Suddenly from the right side of the car over the river from the corner of my eye I noticed a shape in the air. A smooth grey winged shape swooped in a large figure 8's over the road in front of the windshield of the car. It happened as fast as you could blink your eyes 3 times. It looked like it was going to smash into the windshield. It was grey, smooth and translucent. The only light directly on it was from the oncoming headlights of the traffic coming towards us. As the lights hit it the creature seemed almost translucent like a jellyfish. I could not tell if it was the oncoming head lights reflecting off of it or if it had an actual shine to it. Its wings were very long- stretched out and pointed on the ends. I was not aware of a head, tail or feet . I could not see what the surface texture was like. It happened so fast we were left more with that first impression rather than deep detail. There were no apparent lights on it. I would guess that its length was at least 15 feet from wing tip to wing tip. We were on a two-lane road and it was wider than the road. It was not a bird, not a kite, and did not look like a machine because it seemed flexible and more alive than a machine somehow. The shape had very little thickness like a bat it had a flattened shape. I did not notice any type of ribs or spokes or bone structure on the wings. This creature thing flew ahead of us while it banked in swoops of figure 8 loop formations. I could see the different angles of the wings as it turned. They did not flap, but seemed to stretch wider as it swooped in front of the car. When it turned it looked transparent at times. It would dive low only about 5 feet above the road surface. We watched as this creature continued its flight path and dives until suddenly it was just not there. I got a better look at it than my friend as he was driving. He saw that it was grey and transparent. He noticed the underside of the wings and said they looked raggedy like pieces were coming off the edges. He did not notice a head, tail or eyes. I have drawn what I saw and recall of this incident. This event occurred on Dec. 3, 2004." This is a very unusual report. It is however not the only one I have come across of people seeing orbs or odd shaped objects or creatures that seemed more alive than piloted in the sky. I have to wonder if we are overlooking the possibility that many sightings we are reporting are of living or part living objects? Watching as we enter into a era that may be a huge shift in our own evolution as a species I can only consider the idea that others before us already have walked this road and we are seeing the result of this in many UFO sightings . Can we be looking at our future ? If so I am not sure I like what I see. This is all part of the unknown we do not understand. I can only hope one day we advance enough to understand the universe around us and the creatures and life forms we share that space with. With so much going on I have to wonder why we are so happy to stay stunted in the dark with most things paranormal while holding so tightly to a past and life style that will move ahead and quickly change like it or not. We would all be far more better off if we understood the unknown however I know humans do not handle change well or the unknown. I think things paranormal will be held off and kept in full denial as long as possible by a fearful close minded society. I do know one day we will all have to understand that the future will march on and society is going to have to walk with it or be left behind.
