| Posted: 11 Jan 2011 04:12 PM PST  Off and on for nearly 200 years men have been boring and tunneling for treasure on Oak Island, a small island off the coast of Nova Scotia. Whoever dug the aptly-named "Money Pit" was a brilliant engineer, who harnessed the sea in the form of booby traps to keep trespassers at bay. The pit consists of a deep shaft, furnished with an ingenious arrangement of side tunnels that allow the sea to flood in whenever diggers venture into it's depths. The only finds so far have been: three links of a chain that may have been gold or copper (accounts vary); a tiny scrap of parchment reading the two letters, V and I, written with a quill pen: and a cipher stone with odd samples that was found at 90 feet down the shaft (which has since mysteriously disappeared). The story of Oak Island began in 1795, when 16-year-old Daniel McGinnis paddled over from the little Nova Scotian town of Chester to hunt game. In a clearing at one end of the island, an old ship's block and tackle hung from a tree over the center of a 12 foot wide depression.  The island was rumored to have been haunted by pirates who had buried their treasure before they died. Nonetheless, Daniel and two other boys started digging. They found a 13-foot-wide circular shaft dug through clay, with thick oak platforms at 10, 20 and 30 feet. As the work progressed, it became difficult getting help from superstitious townsfolk, so the dig was abandoned in 1804. In the same year, a wealthy Nova Scotian named Simeon Lynds formed the first treasure company. He found the first and greatest obstacle to all further explorations of the pit - water. The workers had broken through eight oak platforms, three of which were sealed with ship's putty and coconut fibers when the cipher stone was found at 90 feet. When the hole had been dug 8 feet deeper, a crowbar hit something solid. Lynds was sure he had found the elusive treasure chest. The next day, to his dismay, the pit had filled with 60 feet of water overnight. Weeks of bailing with buckets and the use of crude pumps failed to lower the water's level inside the pit. Lynds' miners sank a second shaft close and parallel to the original pit. At 100 feet they began burrowing toward the treasure when suddenly, the miners were scrambling for their lives. Water had burst into the shaft and filled it to the same level as the original shaft. The previously wealthy Lynds was now destitute having run through his fortune in search of the treasure. In 1849, John Smith and Anthony Vaughn, who were in their seventies and had helped in the original dig in 1795, returned to Oak Island and tried again with the help of a syndicate from Truro, Nova Scotia. The Truro shafts seemed to confirm the existence of two or more chests that might contain treasure in some form. Unfortunately, their work undermined the pit itself and caused the bottom to collapse into what was thought to be a vast cavern. The collapse may have resulted in the chest being carried down, possibly breaking apart and dispersing the contents.
The Truro syndicate later discovered why the pits had flooded to a level that rose and fell with the tides. A man-made tunnel, 111 feet down connected the sea to the cavern and pit. In 1893 the sea tunnel was dynamited and blocked...still the pit flooded uncontrollably. Further excavations were made in 1909, 1931, 1935, 1936, 1942, 1959, 1965, 1969, and 1971, none of which were successful. In 1942 a second man-made tunnel to the sea was discovered and it was feared that there might be several more. During the 1990s, further exploration was stalled because of legal battles over the land rights. As of 2005, a portion of the island was for sale. In April of 2006 a Michigan group, said it will resume operations on Oak Island in the hope of discovering buried treasure and the mystery of Oak Island. Recently, the two parties who fought for land rights in the 1990's have agree to merged and search the Money Pit together.
THEORIES ON THE SUPPOSED TREASURE There has been wide-ranging speculation amongst enthusiasts as to who originally dug the pit and what it might contain. One theory is that the island contains pirate treasure, a hoard buried by Captain Kidd or possibly Edward Teach (Blackbeard). Teach claimed he buried his treasure "where none but Satan and myself can find it." Some also hold to the theory that Kidd conspired with Henry Every and Oak Island was used as a pseudo community bank between the two. Others agree the pit was dug to hold treasure but believe this was done by Spanish sailors from a wrecked galleon or British troops during the American Revolution. Another argument is that given the size and complexity of the pit, it was likely dug by French army engineers hoping to hide the contents of the treasury of the Fortress of Louisbourg after it fell to the British during the Seven Years' War. Lacking archival evidence some speculate the the priceless jewels of Marie Antoinette (which are historically missing) are buried on Oak Island. During the French Revolution, when the Palace of Versailles was stormed by revolutionaries in 1789, Marie Antoinette instructed her lady-in-waiting to take her prized possessions and flee. Supposedly, the royal items made it to London along with important artwork or documents, secreted away either on her person or as her luggage, It is even believed she was assisted by the remaining loyal officers of the French navy during the uprising. The story then goes that this woman fled further afield from London to Nova Scotia through royal connections she would have had during her service to the queen at Versailles and managed to contract the French navy to help construct the famed 'pit' on the island. Whether such a complex engineering effort could have been completed is questionable and no official date of its construction exists. However, other theories do suggest the structure is French and naval in style. There are other theories that state the Oak Island pit was dug to hold treasure much more exotic than gold or silver.  When Europe called for the Crusades, the Templar found themselves at the center of religious fervor. It was not long before sons of wealthy families were pledging their fortunes and property to the order just for the privilege of joining the band. The Templar began to emerged as the worlds first bank whereby Kings would deposit their gold in Paris only to be able to withdraw it again in Jerusalem. The result of which was the immense growth of Templar, in both wealth and number. When Jerusalem and the Holy Lands were eventually lost to Islam, the Templar experienced a swift backlash whereby the King Philip of France began to plot against the organization in hope of reaching their immense wealth. On Friday the 13th of October 1307, the King found an ally in Pope Clement V and ordered that the Templar leaders be arrested. It is speculated that King Philip's motive was that he owed the Templar a massive amount of money due to loans he acquired during many lean years in France. Once the day of the arrests arrived, the Paris Templar arranged that its treasures be loaded on a wagon train headed toward the port city of La Rochelle. From there, it was deposited aboard the Templar ships, setting sail to an unknown destination. According to Andrew Sinclair, author of "The Sword and the Grail", the Templar were said to flee with the treasure to Scotland. It was in Scotland that they founded the St. Clair family, later to be known as Sinclair. The Sinclair's built Rosslyn Chapel, an often cited link between the Temple and Freemasonry. This chapel becomes temporarily the resting place of the legendary Holy Grail before its final journey to Nova Scotia. The Sinclair's became the Grand Masters of the order and desired a new land in which to establish an utopian Templar government. Using both their money and military strength coupled with their sailing abilities, they sailed westwards towards Nova Scotia, island hopping along the way always staying within 200 miles of shore. Click for video The arrival of the Knights Templar in this region is supported by a narrative and map attributed to Vopell and Vavassatore. It depicts the landmass of Nova Scotia or New Scotland with the figure of a crowned knight. Further evidence exists of visitors in New England, in the form of the Tower in Newport, Rhode Island and, the Westford Knight, a carving of the figure of an armoured, European knight holding a cruciform sword, a common Templar emblem on graves. Once the unsuccessful colony of the Temple died out, instead of sailing back east, the American Templar decided to hide the bounty. They built a complex 'Money Pit' on Oak Island by engineering flood traps to prevent anyone reaching the treasure. The spot is marked using the form of a stone cross, symbolism typical of the Templar. Critics argue that there is no treasure and that the apparent pit is a natural phenomenon, likely a sinkhole and natural caverns. Regardless of it's hidden secrets or storied past, after over 200 years of drilling, digging and pumping the surrounding area of Oak Island has become so confused that the exact location of the original Money Pit is no longer recognized.  | ||||
| Fortean / Alternative News: UFO Reports, Triple Sun Over China and Unfazed by Alien Life Posted: 11 Jan 2011 07:37 PM PST  Triangle UFO Witnessed Over Southwest Fort Worth, Texas MUFON CMS - Fort Worth, Texas - unedited: The sighting occurred over my southern facing home in southwest Fort Worth near Benbrook Lake in the early morning hours at 7:45 AM Central Standard Time on December 10, 2010 (I confirmed the date and time by reviewing my text message to a friend with whom I shared the experience). I was rolling out the garbage bins for Friday morning Pick-up and the triangular shaped craft, with 3 soft glowing well defined lights beneath, was moving very slowly at a diagonal from my right to the left with no sound. I am accustomed to seeing aircraft which originate from or travel toward Carswell, AFB; however, this craft was on a trajectory outside of the usual flight paths I've witnessed. The shape of the craft was distinguishable as a dark silhouette against the background of the early morning sky, and the 3 equally proportioned lights were the dominant feature. At a higher altitude, there was a military fighter aircraft too small to identify, but was still audible. I watched for about 2 minutes, as the craft grew closer and eventually passed directly overhead. I looked to my left and saw a neighbor in the car about 3 houses down; however, this person was not a co-witness. I remained in place and continued to watch. In the time I looked left again, toward my neighbor's moving car, the craft disappeared in a blink. My initial thought was that in a clear blue sky, I should be able to reacquire the craft, as there was no way a conventional aircraft could have disappeared so suddenly. The sky was cloudless, my view was unobstructed. I was unable to take a picture at that moment, but have discovered a photo that fits the description, the time of day and similar weather conditions under which I witnessed the UFO. **********    Light Anomaly / UFO in Michigan MUFON CMS - unedited: It was dec 14th a typical cold mich night i came outside to meet a family member who was dropping off a down payment for a T-shirt order i do costume Designs and i while i stood outside waiting for them to pull up i noticed a really fast object to my right darting by in the sky i thought it was odd something like a shooting star etc not sure because it shoot by so fast so it caught my attention and made me extremely alert and I immediately began to comb the night sky in search for anything strange or sudden movements etc, it wasn't alot of stars visible that night but a few none the less so as i was doing my observation another object caught my eye it appeared to be a bright star much more brighter then anything else in the night sky besides the moon is much smaller then the moon, so as i paid closer attention to that particular object which i assumed was a star i noticed it starting to flicker and make some slight movements and change colors from bright white to a darker blue then a reddish color so i was shocked and excited by my discover and i waited and watched this object about another 2 mins before for my family member pulls up and i proceeded to observe this object as i walked from my front yard where i was standing to the drive way about 10-15 feet from where i was standing in my yard i got in his car got the down payment and instructions for his T-shirt order all while keeping a close eye on this object. i was in the car talking and watching the night sky for about 3-5 mins then i departed from his vehicle and to my surprise the object which appeared to be a bright star changing colors and making slight movements up and down was still visible from my yard so i rushed into the house grabbed my video recorder and came back outside this time i approached the drive way to get a better angle and clear shoot with my camera and then proceeded to start shooting as much as i could. now at this point im outside standing in the freezing mich weather filming what i thought was a strange star and it wasnt till after i zoomed in closer on the object i was able to witness something i never seen before in my life. now this bright star had morphed from one bright light into two distinct points of light two different colors and they started to make movements like two orbs colliding and dividing separating and joining again changing patterns and growing in size. i observed the erratic activity for several mins then something else stranger began to happen the one star or orb multiplexed and grew from two points of ligt to 3 then 4 then ultimately 8 to 12 different orbs was seen at one time or another they increased in colors as the patterns and movements became more rapid and more complex in directions they all seemed to move as one unit flashing and changing colors and and going from one to several at speeds of light they would move so fast and jump out of frame and then come back into my frame even when i tried to zoom out i could only see one object that appeared to be flickering then when i zoom in again it would start to build up and make more balls of light or multiply in size and grow bigger and became more evasive in this movements it seemed precise and deliberate all tho i couldn't determine what i was actually filming it was definitely rare and unique to me i stayed and observed it for around 15 mins or so before the freezing cold forced me inside to retreat. i went inside to warm up and charge my battery and decided to go back outside after around 20 mins or so and captured similar activity in segments of 13 15 mins for a total of 40 mins to a hour the object was visible around the 4th segment of me coming back out to capture more footage it moved out the reach of my cam and i wasn't able to record anymore. im attaching a few still shoots from the actual video footage and a link to some of the video footage i up loading to youtube i also have more footage if your interested. let me know im curious to have a expert analyze my recording and get some answers. This one is very questionable...Lon Click for video **********  Triple Sun Phenomenon Over China itn - An astronomical phenomenon that appears to show three suns appears above Changchun, the capital city of Jilin Province in northeast China. Two smaller suns appeared on either side of the sun, with a strong light on top. The smaller twins were about one-tenth of the size of the sun. Together with the bright light, they formed a round, rainbow-like aura around the sun. Experts said that such a phenomenon is called "phantom sun", which is an optical refraction in the atmosphere. In winter, the clouds are formed by ice crystals and they are relatively higher in the sky than in summer. ********** Mona Lisa landscape location mystery 'solved' telegraph - Carla Glori believes that a three-arched bridge which appears over the left shoulder of the woman with the enigmatic smile is a reference to Bobbio, a village which lies in rugged hill country south of Piacenza, in northern Italy. Her theory is based on the recent discovery by another art historian, Silvano Vinceti, of the numbers 7 and 2 artfully concealed in the span of the stone bridge. Miss Glori believes the numerals are a reference to 1472, the year in which a devastating flood destroyed Bobbio's bridge. Historical records show that the bridge, known as the Ponte Gobbo or Ponte Vecchio (the Old Bridge), was swept away when the River Trebbia burst its banks that year. "Leonardo added in the number 72 beneath the bridge to record the devastating flood of the River Trebbia and to allow it to be identified," said Miss Glori, who sets out the theory in a new book, The Leonardo Enigma. Leonardo was born in the town of Vinci in Tuscany but travelled extensively in Italy during his lifetime and worked in Venice, Rome and Bologna. The artist started painting the Mona Lisa in 1503 or 1504 in Florence, but did not finish it until years later, after he had moved to France to work under the patronage of King Francois I. Most art historians believe the background, which features valleys and mountains, is an idealised, composite landscape drawn from the artist's imagination, but Miss Glori is convinced that it depicts a specific place. The painting was kept in the Palace of Versailles until it was moved to the Louvre Museum in Paris, and remains the property of the French state. It is believed to be a portrait of Lisa Gherardini, the wife of a wealthy Florentine silk merchant. In addition to discerning the number 72 beneath one of the bridge's arches, Mr Vinceti, the president of Italy's National Committee for Cultural Heritage, claimed last month to have found mysterious symbols concealed in the Mona Lisa's eyes. He believes the letters LV – a possible reference to Leonardo's initials – appear in the right pupil, while other letters, possibly CE or B, appear in the left eye. Today, surveys suggest that half of the U.S. and Europe believe in aliens, while a 'substantial proportion' are convinced alien spacecraft had already visited the Earth. A second paper in the same journal argued that the discovery of intelligent alien life was unlikely to threaten the world's faiths. Ted Peters, theologian at the Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, California, surveyed 1,300 people of different faiths around the world. He wrote: 'It became clear that the vast majority of religious believers, regardless of religion, see no threat to their personal beliefs caused by potential contact with intelligent neighbours on other worlds.' He also argues that worshippers would be able to accept that heaven would welcome aliens too. However, elsewhere in the journal, evolution expert Professor Simon Conway Morris, from Cambridge University, said the chances of intelligent alien life were low. If evolution were the same throughout the universe it would be unthinkable that advanced space travellers in older parts of the universe should not have reached the Earth by now, he said. Prof Conway Morris added: 'That did not happen, and it will not happen. We never had any visitors, nor is it worth setting up a reception committee in the hope that one day they might turn up. The following day the client went to the position of the sighting to take photos, as she approached the area she at once became fearful, the atmosphere had changed her gut feeling told her to get away and she fled back to the house. This lady is very level headed and doe's not get scared easily. This is about all we have at the moment. We do not like to be given to many details before a remote view. This sounds like it is going to be a very interesting one though. As soon as we can, this RV will take place. The target will be a stretch of land that extends to 19 acres...Irene ********** Remote View Notes Irene and I conducted a remote view on this case today, 1/10/11. Irene set the target coordinates for me and monitored the session. We systematically executed 4 phases in order to perceive the target and to gather as much information possible. This session would be a bit different than previous remote views due to the large area involved as well as the uncertainty as to what I was hoping to perceive. In Phase 1, the coordinates (a set of two - four digit numbers) were given to me...from which an ideogram (a graphic symbol that represents an idea or concept) was developed. The target was a chosen point in real time which may have been related to the sightings at the location. By probing the ideogram, 'descriptors' (the function of describing) were used to determine the nature of the target. Several attempts with the same target coordinates were done in order to get a average assessment. In this case, the descriptors were varied and did not offer has much information as desired. In Phase 2, the target vignette was narrowed by probing for sounds, textures, temperatures, colors, luminescence, contrast and smells. Through this information I was able to focus in on any verticals, horizontals, diagonals, topography, mass and energetics as well as my overall 'feeling' of the target. As in Phase 1, my sense of the target was varied and unclear though a few bits of information were coming into view. In Phase 3, I made a rough sketch or drawing of what I was perceiving. At this point, the sketch was assumed to be a 'portal'. The description of the portal from Phase 2 was that of a 'dark to light blue colored space that varied in size, shape and luminescence....a sulfur smell was present as well as the sensation of something slick and fluid to the touch'. In Phase 4, I went into a deeper perception of the target. This included sense, magnitudes, emotions, physicals, subspace, viewer feeling, concepts and deductions. There were other specifics used, but at this point there was no systematic procedure needed because the observations were beginning to flood in. I immediately started to sense an entity present...described as a low-to-the-ground creature moving around the location. This entity was dark colored, canine in appearance but also possessed some human-like features. There was hair on the face and back but the rest of the body was hairless with a dark colored 'sheen' on the skin. As I probed deeper into the target I sensed that (in real time) it was dusk and that seemed to be the time that this entity moved through the portal onto the surface plane. The creature noticed me and suddenly turned away...an attempt to avoid looking directly at me. There was no malevolence detected. I had previously detected an underground route or cavern that allowed this entity to move undetected at fairly lengthy distances to other portals along the way. As well, there is a very good possibility that this is a multidimensional being...though, there does seem to be some physical aspects to it. This area of Texas was inhabited by the Comanche Nation, so we will be considering some of their legends when researching this location...Lon ----------
I contacted the client not long after the remote view session in order to get their thoughts and assessments. (NOTE: the client has known psychic ability and is a forensic artist) The client verified that this entity does 'come out' at dusk and has been seen by several other witnesses at this location. This location also has natural gas reservoirs. One of the nearby natural gas heads has been leaking off and on...and that a 'sulfur' smelling additive indicates that the apparatus is leaking. As well, the general area has connecting oil fields...all open space underground would easily contain crude oil at various levels. (This may explain the 'dark colored sheen' on the creature). The client was adamant that they sensed that I was at the location during the period of the remote view session. The client has expressed that they do not want the entity moved because they feel it is a 'protector' and it should remain where it is comfortable. I wholeheartedly agree. The client and their family are of native American heritage and aware of the relationship between the spirit and natural world. They wanted to get a better sense of this entity in order to reassure those who also live on the premises...Lon **********
The following is an update from the client: I just realized why you saw the portal as "a dark to light colored blue fluid gateway". We had a lot of rain before you did the remote view and there was standing water in the area where the portal was last seen. As you saw it in the light of dusk (sky was cloudy and gray), and with all that standing water, it would probably cause it to look lighter. The portal itself is dark (pitch black), however I forgot to mention that I saw a reddish light, right at dark, just a few nights ago, in an area just south of where (name redacted) saw the portal. This was just a flash of red light, just above the ground. I could not make out anything else, as the surroundings were already dark. I felt that something emerged from that spot. Could this be the entity that I saw looking in through my patio door? It was humanoid, not very large and pitch black. I only saw it's eyes for an instant, that's where I first got the sense of a lupine. The eyes were a dark yellow color but unlike a wolf, the eyes did not reflect light. It looked right at me, then vanished. You did not describe the color of the entity...was it dark and did you see it's eyes when it looked towards you? I have a feeling that it watches me. I am not afraid of *it* but I am afraid to some extent, of what else is lurking out there. Perhaps that is why it is here? To guard me and others from something else? Thank you so much! Please send my regards to Irene, as well. NOTE: I feel that this is the same entity that I encountered. I mentioned to Irene that it did change facial features at least once while I observed it. The entity was very dark in color including the other features I made note of. I plan to research possible similar sightings in this region as well as Comanche and Wichita Nation legends. It does have a similarity to the Skin Walker stories, but there is a multidimensional aspect to this entity as opposed to a mystical perspective.
