Scottish Hiker Observes Female African Lion in the Campsie Fells Posted: 11 May 2010 10:14 AM PDT CM.com - Dr Bob Sharp, 64, is the retired head of the department of sports studies at Strathclyde University. He was part of the team that put together Scotland's first degree in outdoor education. He has also been involved in mountain rescue for 33 years, 12 of them as leader of the Lomond mountain rescue team. Recently appointed to the role of statistician for the Mountain Rescue Committee of Scotland, he is a former chairman of the Scottish Mountain Safety Forum, has served as director of what is is now Mountain Leader Training Scotland, and was a vice-president of the Mountaineering Council of Scotland. He completed a round of the Munros in 1991, and has spent a lot of time on the hill over the years. And he describes himself as "an evidence-based person", someone who is "not prone to delusions or quick, uninformed decisions". All of which is relevant, in a "reliable witness" way, to what happened on the morning of Thursday, 22 April, in the Campsies, north of Glasgow. Sharp was out for a walk up Meikle Bin: the second-highest hill in the area, an excellent viewpoint, and a popular half-day leg-stretch. He started, as most people do, at Todholes at the west end of the Carron Valley Reservoir. Much of the hill is afforested, and the route is an easy stroll along tracks. High up, a path heads up through the last of the trees and follows the north-west ridge to the 570-metre summit. Conditions were good – dry, with a cloudbase well above the summit – and there was no one else around. The only other walkers met were near the parking area. A perfectly ordinary outing – until, on the final slope, "between 480 and 500 metres", it became memorable and puzzling. "At a point where the slope relents," Sharp wrote in an email to friends and colleagues the next day, "I saw a large animal running from left to right about 20 metres away. My brain tried to fit its shape to that of a fox but failed miserably. The animal I saw was, for all intents and purposes, a female lion. It was not a sheep, cow, deer, badger, fox, hare, wildcat, otter, etc. "It was beige/brown in colour, had chunky, fur-covered legs, a long tail and rounded-off ears. It was large, at least four to five feet long, and it moved just like a female African lion. I followed it as it ran towards the treeline, then it was gone in about ten seconds." Anticipating the scepticism that such sightings tend to provoke, and true to his scientific background, Sharp added: "I was not drinking at the time, or high on drugs. Nor was I hypothermic, ill or fatigued. Just strolling along minding my own business when all of a sudden this big cat appeared." Asked a few days later if he had seen the creature again when he came to descend the hill, Sharp said: "I returned the same way and dropped down to the treeline where it was heading, but saw nothing. I should have looked for possible pawprints, but it never entered my head." (He didn't have a camera with him.) Was he scared of it? And did the creature appear scared of him? "Neither. I just recall being puzzled and surprised that it was an animal so unusual and out of place." The creature made no noise, and headed westward into the trees. Afterwards, Sharp contacted Simon Jones, a manager with the Scottish Wildlife Trust. Jones was of the opinion that "such a sighting would be unusual but still possible". Asked whether he had ever seen anything like this before, in three-and-a-half decades of Scottish hillgoing, Sharp says "Never." The incident occurred at grid reference NS664824, less then ten miles from the northern edge of Scotland's largest city. Needless to say, Bob Sharp would be interested to hear any theories people might have about this – and also whether there have been similar sightings and reports in the area. Epidemic: 6000+ U.S. Veterans Committed Suicide in 2009 Posted: 11 May 2010 09:45 AM PDT defense - With more than 6,000 veterans committing suicide every year –- and 98 veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan taking their own lives during fiscal 2009 alone -- the Department of Veterans Affairs is redoubling its outreach to veterans and promoting its toll-free suicide-prevention hotline. National statistics show that veterans constitute about 20 percent of the 30,000 to 32,000 U.S. deaths each year from suicide. Of an average of 18 veterans who commit suicide each day, about five receive care through the VA health-care system. More than 60 percent of those five had diagnosed mental-health conditions. Dr. Janet E. Kemp, VA's national suicide prevention coordinator, is committed to improving those statistics. She's heading up an aggressive outreach program to address problems that lead to suicide, and to ensure veterans as well as their loved ones know where to turn for help. Speaking with reporters yesterday, Kemp cited mounting evidence that veterans in the 18- to 29-year-old age group who use VA health-care services are less likely to commit suicide than those who don't. Based on statistical comparisons between the two groups, she estimated that 250 fewer veterans enrolled in the VA system take their own lives each year. She credited VA's screening and assessment processes designed to identify high-risk patients and provide intervention, as needed. Yet, during fiscal 2009, 707 members of the general veteran population died at their own hands, and another 10,665 made unsuccessful suicide attempts. In addition to the 98 veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan who committed suicide – 94 men and four women – there were 1,868 who made non-fatal attempts on their lives. Of these, 1,621 were men and 247 were women, reflecting trends in the general U.S. population. "Just one death is one too many," said Dr. Antonette Zeiss, deputy chief for mental health services at VA's central office. "The bottom line is, the efforts we put into enhancing overall mental health services have correlated with the reduction of suicide," especially among males who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Alarmed by an increase in suicides among this population between 2003 and 2004, VA adopted a comprehensive mental health strategic plan in 2004 that has helped to bring the numbers down. Much of the plan is dedicated to increasing veterans' access to mental-health services. VA hired 6,000 additional mental-health professionals since 2004, bringing its full complement of providers to 20,000, Zeiss said. "Access to care makes a difference," she said. "We have worked on improving access to care for all veterans." VA mental health professionals are based at every VA medical center and the largest community-based clinic, and provide same- or next-day help to veterans in need, she said. In addition, VA established a toll-free national suicide hotline in July 2007 that Kemp said receives about 10,000 calls a month from veterans as well as currently serving soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines. Kemp credited the hotline with stopping 7,000 suicides in progress, in which callers were actively hurting themselves or in imminent danger of taking their own lives. In addition, VA initiated an online chat service last July, accessible through its suicide prevention Web site. The chat line enables veterans and their families and friends to go online to chat anonymously with a trained VA counselor. To date, almost 4,000 "chatters" have used the service, with several referred to the hotline for immediate care, Kemp reported. To get the word out about these initiatives, VA launched an advertising campaign in 124 U.S. cities, with public service announcements featuring actor Gary Sinise and TV broadcaster Deborah Norville. Kemp said she's received anecdotal evidence that the campaign already is having an impact. She cited one veteran who traveled to Las Vegas with the intent to commit suicide, writing a suicide note and making final preparations to take his life. Then, by chance, he noticed a poster about the VA suicide prevention hotline on a wall at a local bus stop and placed the call that ultimately saved his life. "He's now alive and well and telling his story of success," Kemp said. Click for video ______________________ Increase in Suicide Rate of Veterans Noted armytimes - The suicide rate among 18- to 29-year-old men who've left the military has gone up significantly, the government said Monday. The rate for these veterans went up 26 percent from 2005 to 2007, according to preliminary data from the Veterans Affairs Department. VA officials said they assume that most of the veterans in this age group served in Iraq or Afghanistan. If there is a bright spot in the data, it's that in 2007 veterans in the group who used VA health care were less likely to commit suicide than those who did not. That's a change from 2005. In recent years, the VA has hired thousands of new mental health professionals and established a suicide hot line credited with "rescues" of nearly 6,000 veterans and military members in distress. The military has also struggled with an increase in suicides, with the Army seeing a record number last year. While the military frequently releases such data, it has been more difficult to track suicide information on veterans once they've left active duty. The VA calculated the numbers using Centers for Disease Control and Prevention numbers from 16 states. In 2005, the rate per 100,000 veterans among men ages 18-29 was 44.99, compared with 56.77 in 2007, the VA said. It did not release data for other population groups. At a suicide prevention conference on Monday in Washington, VA Secretary Eric Shinseki said his agency needs to do a better job understanding what led to each suicide. He said he'd also like to see more stringent protocol put into place at VA facilities about how to handle a potentially suicidal veteran, similar to what's done with someone who's having a heart attack. He noted that of the more than 30,000 suicides each year in America, about 20 percent are committed by veterans. "Why do we know so much about suicides but still know so little about how to prevent them?" Shinseki said. "Simple question, but we continue to be challenged." Video Interview: Encounter With 'Greys' During DMT Experience Posted: 11 May 2010 09:24 AM PDT Click for video Statement: May 10, 2010 — Several months ago we interviewed Peter Sterling. Due to sound issues we did not release it at that time. I have since found a work around that has eliminated most, though not all of these issues. This interview took place on the beach, hence the sound of the ocean became problematic. Upon Peter's request I have now re-edited it and am releasing it here for the first time. Due to the subject matter which concerns his encounter with 2 gray aliens during an Ayahuasca experience, we have included a cautionary note at the beginning of the video, reprinted here as well. While, clearly, Peter has the best of intentions, it is not at all certain that the information you are about to hear, is the truth. A Project Camelot Production Special note: Project Camelot does not agree with the message contained in this video. Due to problems with sound we have hesitated until now to release this interview. At Peter's request we are releasing it now for viewing. We encourage you to use discernment when watching and remember that often, the Grays use screen memories and have an agenda behind their actions. We release this interview at this time as an investigation into the nature of reality and one person's testimony to his experience. We also cannot recommend use of Ayahuasca nor do we reject it. Researchers Speculate UFO Base Exists In Sierra de los Padres, Argentina Posted: 11 May 2010 09:04 AM PDT popularonline (translation) - A UFO researcher revealed that an amazing experience after a recent field study with a colleague, lets you infer the possibility that in Sierra de los Padres, only 15 miles from Mar del Plata, there is sandwiched between the rocky outcrops a nest of alien spacecraft whose occupants with even able to keep experiences of "close interaction." George Brown, one of the leaders of Code UFO research group, said that the unique events that occur in that area in no way be framed in shares land accomplished by technology, but are closely linked with the alien presence. Undoubtedly the most striking detail of the many who contributed sighting witnessed last February privileged Brown and researcher Graciela Donalisio, which is located towards the threshold of a fourth type of contact with visitors from space exterior. Speaking to-Files, Brown told the central elements of an investigation now continues in the laboratory stage, in which the group that integrates with Daniel Valverdi, auscultation audio and video recordings, in the latter to elaborate on enigmatic psychographies. "UFO Code is open to science and now we are looking for, before proceeding, specifically define the elements that we rescued in the field research we did in February," said Brown, when referring to "a specific sightings" as means "is a nest or base used by the aliens. "This happens now" The researcher stressed that the group has been working in the area of Sierra de los Padres exploded since 2005 when the so-called "case Tapia" event related to a series of marks and brands which showed strange view events preceded by intense light during the night terrorized the neighbors. In the view of Brown sightings, day or night, are common in Sierra de los Padres, a fact which reinforces its assumptions about the place "is for the rise and fall" of ships are leaving their mark visual or physical in the area. For the integral UFO Code "the important thing is that this is happening now" and while deepening the analysis of evidence collected, in addition to some 500 photographs taken by Donalisio-ruled emphatically that these demonstrations have so much surprised that do with "Nazi experiments during the 40 or current evidence of NASA." In his view then described the events that are the result of elements that move "at the speed of light" and do it in a brief to the point that "at the time of manifestation, in the field is a silence total which are not heard or frogs or crickets, which at first seems impossible." But what was experienced by Brown and Donalisio the cool night last February in a soybean field and about 600 meters from the foothills? "Graciela told me to look the Southern Cross, which was to appear, to mark the position with your index finger," said Brown, a brightness, like a flash, shot by prescribed point. " According to the researcher, what happened was an indication of the interaction with other intelligences, which also occurs, he explained, with lights that charge mobility can not be replicated by a celestial body. Concert lights At that time of night over the area was making up a storm but despite having constant lightning, no thunder was heard at all. The strength was coming, "first caught our attention," he emphasized, "a star of magnitude or two, because in less than five minutes had changed position several times." "Suddenly," he continued from the front of the mountain and 600 meters, we came upon a green light in seconds, went out. To all this the mysterious star that we were watching was picked in fractions of seconds and over again but now in the mountains, "he recalled diagonal fluorescent green light as the width of two cars reached 30 meters in front of us." Brown and Donalisio were already altered by face alone in the dark of night so intense manifestation of unpredictable end. That was two balls of light, one white and one red, down from the mountains to join the show. He then went on to what Brown described as "a perfect circle, phosphorescent, as 20 meters in diameter that also slipped to us for about 10 seconds. We decided to climb into the car where we come and go to another field, "he added. Asked about the feelings they had, Brown acknowledged that "the first was in terror" and in his case, the second was "experiencing a pressure in the head and a kind of feverishness, while Graciela was a secondary reaction: for a few minutes he was disoriented, as if he had lost all sense of space." However, even the pair of researchers will go through an incredible situation remained more. The order in which they walked away from the soybean field was followed and overtaken by a white light to couple then lost speed on the walls of the mountain, which ended the amazing experience. Voices of other worlds "Quietly what is in Sierra de los Padres may be a UFO base" said Brown who said "in fact, they can be photographed by day and night sighting, as happened in our case" in which, too, added another recording made valuable contribution. All episodes experienced by Brown and Donalisio were recorded on video that when viewed in Buenos Aires, allowed researchers to discover the presence of strange voices that seep into the recordings. These psicofonÃas, as was said, are a source of UFO investigations by code to decipher what they say first human-like voices but they sound distorted and, once accomplished that task, determine their origin. The final result of this whole adventure is defined by the concepts of Brown in that whole experience in itself "is set to close interaction between institutions and researchers, in which what the message is clear is that visitors are telling us they are there." _______________________ From March 3, 2008 Argentina: The Sierra de los Padres "Phantom" Inexplicata - Luis Burgos writes: "Silvia Simondini of the VISION OVNI organization has sent us another curious daylight photograph of a UFO taken at Sierra de los Padres, Buenos Aires Province by collaborators of her organization, who have managed to take excellent photos of these objects over the area in recent times. "According to Jorge Luis Figueiras, a FAO image specialist, [the photos] show a solid object with a protuberance in its lower section, which has been noticed in other cases. From another angle we can see the object with its typical "hat-shaped" UFO configuration, in a rotated position. UFOs are visiting these latitudes again while the 2008 saucer wave continues in full swing." Researchers Speculate UFO Base Exists In Sierra de los Padres, Argentina |
UFO, Possible Thunderbird Sighting - Salt Lake City, Utah Posted: 11 May 2010 07:56 AM PDT MUFON witness report - unedited: Mothers Day, May 9, 2010 Around 8:15 PM (Salt Lake City, Utah) It was a typical day, it was Mothers Day and me and my dad celebrated with my mom having a BBQ in our backyard. So at 8:00 ironically a program came on the BIO channel called "Alien Cover-Up" it that show talked about UFO research cover-up in locations of Nevada and Utah. Well I normally don't follow the UFO stuff as much as I used to because it is all about stories and lights in the skies. I always was a believer but I never thought that I would see something. So we went outside to check on the BBQ since it was almost ready. I looked up above in the sky, which our neighbors garage is in front and above it I noticed a pitched black object. The object was above seen about 100 feet away, about a block down from my street. At first I thought it was a hang glider because it appeared to shaped like one, then I thought it was that airplane and I was expecting a banner or something to promote the Salt Lake Bees or something. I asked my dad "What is that?" He said "What is what?" I said "What is that?" "Where" he said. I said "Right there" and he said "Oh" I joked and said "It made no sound" (Referring to what other people reported when they see UFOs) This thing didn't make a sound as well. "What is that?" "A balloon?" "Is that a kite?" "A bird" "A drone of some kind? What is that?" It was changing shape as it was slowly above my neighborhood. It was changing shapes. It appeared to be a kite and then it looked liked a hang glider then when it was approaching a corner heading west at an angle I saw wings or spiky points in the back and it was like it was shape shifting. It was changing shapes as it was moving. then it started moving West in an angle. I took a picture of it twice with my camera phone and I freaked out because it didn't appear on my camera. (But after looking at my pictures expanded and inverted from the paint program is appears as a round orbed object. However this is not what I see with my eyes.) So it was there at the corner of my house on the east side heading towards west in an angle. I ran in front of my driveway looking up to see where it went and I couldn't see through the trees then my dad was next to me and I told him to get the car. I looked and it was already down south from where I lived. Block down in seconds. That is when I saw my dad and I ran down and we got in the car and we were talking about it and I told him "it is going down.", then my mom came out and was confused and my dad gestured with his finger for her to come in the car. My mom asked "What is going on?" I looked over at her and I said "Mom, I saw a f_____ UFO." So I told my dad "hurry", "hurry", "hurry" and he said "I am going" "I am going" He then asked "where is it?" I said "It is right there, you see it?" He said "Yeah I see it." I asked my mom if she seen it and she said "It looks like a bird, but it isn't" So we start heading west. I was on the passengers still looking at it making sure it doesn't lose my site. So then we turn and head south. I was still searching for it and I seen it off and on and it appeared to all the sudden it was heading East. It appeared to be a little higher than it previously was when it was by my house. But it was far. I was at Foothill Drive during this event and it was far down between State Street and 3rd West and around 33rd South, as I was able to spot it again. It looked like a star shaped figure now. It was strange. It was just there floating and hovering there. We went down 23rd South Westbound and took the Sugar House exit as it was floating above that area. It eventually went to 15th East and 33rd South. So we head back up towards East Millcreek. I was upset because I saw the object change direction. It stopped after heading East and I saw it and I felt like it KNEW that we were following it somehow and it went down west towards East Millcreek. From there I lost it for a bit because it blended well with the mountains. I thought that we were not going to see it again, until I spot it again at East Millcreek at the Smith's Marketplace. We got out and observed it some more. when I spotted it during our journey of following it, at times it appeared to have wings of some kind and the weird part of it was when it ascended straight up it did a loop and it appeared to have WINGS like the Nazca Condor. It had that wing span stretched. This object was too big to be a bird, it never flaps its wings and it was shape shifting. As it was ascending higher and higher into the sky I saw a lightning bolt that was faded appeared close to it. The weather was windy however the dark clouds were approaching from the Southwest. I don't believe that it was a balloon on how fast it went in a matter of seconds, how it was changing shape, how it looked like a spaceship of some kind. It was ascending higher and higher until I couldn't see it with my eyes it went so high that it blurred with the sky. When it was ascending up a black jet appeared going south east from where the object was. It was bizarre because I never seen that fighter plane before. My dad said it looked like an OV-10 but he wasn't sure and told me to look it up. The plane that flew by it had a two contrails coming out of it, so from that evidence alone it had two engines and he said it might of been on OV-10 because of how slow it was. However, it did seem like a reconnaissance aircraft of some kind. I had to concentrate on the UFO, because I seen planes before. The object seemed to be out of reach for that plane anyways as the airplane kept flying down south east. It came out of nowhere and coincidently towards the area of the UFO that I seen. It was also doing some weird movements as it ascended up, it was going left and right up and spiraling it's way up. It was bizarre and I am pretty sure that I saw it extend it's wings as it was doing this it looked exactly like that Nazca Condor from the Nazca Lines. The best way I can describe it it was extending out like a cross like figure. I saw something that I cannot explain. I labeled it as a flying humanoid as well because of the pattern it moved and the shape shifting that it was doing. Since I seen videos of these "flying humanoids" shape shifting. But this was a little different at the same time, since it appeared to have spiked wings of some kind. I am really hoping that what I saw can be explainable. I am actually hoping that I did not see an alien craft of some kind. I am hoping someone out there saw what I saw over Salt Lake City and I am hoping someone can tell me it was nothing. However, from what I experienced it was too weird to be anything from this earth. In respect to the questions this report requires me to point out I will recap below: 1. Where were you and what were you doing at the time? In my backyard with my dad cooking BBQ. 2. What made you first notice the object? I always look up, but I had a feeling that something was towards that area so I looked and there it appeared. 3. What did you think the object was when you first noticed it? A hang glider, a parachutist, a bird, a kite and a airplane. 4. Describe the object and its actions and motions. It was slow then it was fast. It appeared to be a constant speed kind of like floating and hovering. The object was triangle shaped when it started off and it was flying weird directions, it was shape shifting where it looked like a bird like the Nazca bird. It was weird. The spiked wings was changing directions and shapes. The object was also pitched black and changed into a star shaped figure at times. 5. Describe your feelings, reactions and actions, during and after sighting the object. The atmosphere did seem different. It is this uplifting feeling when I saw it really. My eyes were watery and I took this seriously. I was shocked and I was amazed and terrified at the same. I never took my eye of it and I was determine to keep staring at it until it disappeared from my eyes. 6. How did you lose sight of the object? It went so high that it blurred from my vision and a storm came in covering over the spot that I seen it at. I have two pictures. I circled the object in black as it appears as an orb. This is not what I seen with my own eyes. The phone on my camera was the only thing that I have. I am upset that I don't have any other camera or video camera of this object. But I thought that I had no evidence. The quality sucks because you can almost barely see the object. If you notice that it appears and stands out against anything around it in the sky. If you invert the color in the paint program it looks more clearly. NOTE: Native Americans believed a giant bird they called the 'Thunderbird' existed. It was said to create lightning by blinking it's eyes and thunder by flapping it's wings. Other Native American legends tell of a giant bird that appears preceding a thunder storm. Sightings have been reported throughout North America, but especially in the U.S. southern plains and northern Mexico. Is it possible that a prehistoric bird exists in North America?
