Minnesota / East Texas Residents Present Bigfoot Evidence and Encounters

Posted: 19 May 2010 11:32 AM PDT

ksax - Bigfoot alive and living in northern Minnesota? The co-founders of the Northern Minnesota Bigfoot Society say, "100 percent yes."

They said they have received more than 75 reports of sightings, captured images, and Bigfoot footprints in just three years. They're sharing their insight while sorting fact from fiction as they take KSAX on the hunt for Bigfoot.

"I'm a skeptic of Bigfoot because I've trapped this whole area and never, ever did we see any Bigfoot tracks or see Bigfoot anywhere," William Tucker of Bena said.

Long time trapper William Tucker is anything but a believer, but just miles away from Bena, mind boggling footprints were found.

Each track was a bit different, different pressures, different depths, eliminating the possibility of some sort of footprint stamp.

This is just one of the things the co-founders of the Northern Minnesota Bigfoot Society say confirms the fact, Bigfoot is out there.

"I'm 110% convinced that it exists. There's just too much evidence, too many people's emotions showing when they recount their stories," Bob Olson, a co-founder of the Northern Minnesota Bigfoot Society said. "One lady cries when she recounts her story of how this thing stood up and looked at her. She felt it looked into her soul."

Since 2006, Olson and Don Sherman have received about 75 reports of similar Bigfoot sightings in Northern Minnesota, some of which have been captured on camera.

The most recent was captured in Remer. Though to some, the image may look like a man in a suit, a comparison with 6 foot 5 inch Bob Olson showed this man would have had to have been at least 7 feet tall.

Sherman and Olson say "wood knocking" is just one more way Bigfoot makes his presence known. Olson said Bigfoot responded to him at Carey Lake when he knocked on a tree five times.

What about bones? One KSAX reader says, "I believe Bigfoot is 100% real, as are a lot of the other creatures of Cryptozoology. But i believe in their true form, they are spiritual creatures, that manifest in flesh as they so desire. That is why we will never find bones, or other such evidence of them."

On the other side of the coin, Olson says giant bones belonging to Humanoid creatures were found in the late 1800's, stretching 10 to 12 feet.

While there haven't been any Bigfoot skeletons found, many trappers say they've never come across any bear, wolf, or other large animal skeleton either.

Other signs Bigfoot exists include branches plucked straight out of trees, strange looking shelters, and stick men to warn other Bigfoot of humans in the area.

"When there's stuff that doesn't go away, there's gotta be something to it and the evidence just keeps mounting up," Olson said.

For some Bena residents, the legend of Bigfoot is far from a tall tale.

"I never seen it, but like I says I believe in it," New Prague resident Leo Hinderscheid said.

"I don't know what to say Megan but I believe in it and that's the way it will be," Helen Tibbetts of Bena said.

So, the hunt for Bigfoot continues.

East Texans Recall Bigfoot Encounters

c-bstatesman - For years, people have claimed sightings of a large, human-like creature in the thick woods of East Texas.

About 300 people recently gathered in Tyler for a Bigfoot Conference to share their personal confrontations with the creature.

Speaker Daryl Colyer, who claims to have had an encounter with the beast, said he heard the legends and stories from families when he was growing up.

Colyer's own encounter with Bigfoot occurred near the Trinity River in Liberty County. He and his wife were walking along a trail at dusk when they spotted a large, hairy figure with a musky smell.

Here are some other sightings of Bigfoot-type creatures in East Texas:

In 2003, a motorist spotted an 8-foot-tall creature crossing Texas Highway 154 near Harleton and Little Cypress Bayou.

In December 2001, a deer hunter near Marshall saw a 7-foot upright ape-like figure that was dark brown in color. The figure was picking up apples.

In October 1995, a man was looking at land he was considering buying near Cleveland when he saw a creature lying on the ground. The creature rose on two legs and hit the man in the chest.

In June 1976 near Vidor, a couple moved out of their house because they had enough of Bigfoot sightings in the area.

In Summer 1976, a witness reported seeing a 12-foot-tall creature with silver hair eating ears of corn near Hallsville.

Not all of the Bigfoot sightings have turned out to be accurate.

In his book "The Search for Bigfoot," Peter Byrne wrote about a man who claimed to have seen a Bigfoot creature standing with his back to the man, streaked in gray and black hair, huge, broad-shouldered and bent over.

When Byrne investigated, he discovered the man had seen nothing but a roadside stump.

For more than 400 years, people have been reporting large, hair-covered, manlike animals in wilderness areas of North America. Sightings of the creatures and their tracks continue today.

Investigation of Corbin Cabin - Shenandoah National Park, Virginia

Posted: 19 May 2010 12:18 PM PDT

PR.com - A group of paranormal investigators set out to investigate Corbin Cabin located at Shenandoah National Park in Luray, VA. Frank Polievka, Jonathan Ness, Michelle Burnette and Mike Gray made up the team of investigators that braved the mile and half hike with a steep 1000 foot elevation change. The team hiked in with filmmaking equipment and very few creature comforts. Their goal was to capture paranormal activity and create a documentary to share with fellow skeptics and adventurers. The cabin was constructed in the late 1920's by George T. Corbin. Legend has it George's wife died in the cabin during childbirth and was later buried in the family cemetery located a few hundred yards from the cabin.

The Adventuremyths team rented the cabin through the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club in July of 2009 and documented nearly every moment of the investigation. A (45) Forty-Five minute documentary was created featuring a rare interview with a long time local, Milton Smokie Nicholson, who lived across the river from Corbin cabin when he was just a child. Milton explains the transition from private to park land as it was perceived through the locals eyes and tells his story of earlier mountain living. This documentary is packed with actual investigation footage, a rare interview and two instances of unexplained evidence of paranormal activity. The DVD documentary is available on Amazon with chilling paranormal evidence and extended scenes.

NOTE: I'll be interested to see what audio and video evidence is presented. The Corbin Cabin has had several tales of paranormal activity linked to it...the most prevalent being that the ghost of Mrs. Corbin roams the area around the cabin and that torturous screams can be heard as certain times...Lon

Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III Contains Colossal Statue of Thoth

Posted: 19 May 2010 10:31 AM PDT

independent - A colossal statue of the ancient Egyptian god Thoth, the deity of wisdom, is the latest artifact to be discovered near the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III during archaeological works aimed at controlling the subterranean water level on Luxor's west bank.

The 3.5 metre tall red granite statue is one of several artifacts discovered in the area since excavations began. The head of a 2.5 metre high statue depicting Pharaoh Amenhotep III in a standing position – possibly the best preserved depiction of the pharaoh's face found to date - was unearthed at the King's funeral temple at Kom El-Hettan only months ago. A statue of the god Thoth in the shape of a baboon was also discovered. Last year two black granite statues of Amenhotep III were found at the temple, as well as a 5 metre high statue similar to the Thoth statue just found.

Amenhotep III ruled Egypt between 1390 BC and 1352 BC, and recent DNA and forensic research suggests that he was probably the grandfather of Tutankhamun. His temple was built closer to the river than any other temple at Thebes - right on the edge of the floodplain – and within 200 years it had collapsed. Many of its stones were subsequently removed for the building projects of later pharaohs.

The famous Colossi of Memnon, two 18-metre-high stone statues of Amenhotep III, are all that remains of the pharaoh's mortuary temple, once the largest religious complex in ancient Egypt.

In a statement, Secretary General of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) Dr Zahi Hawass said that evidence found during the excavation suggests that more colossi could yet be found at the site. Afifi Rohayem, assistant director of the excavations, suggests that an avenue of Thoth statues could be found on the original path leading to Amenhotep III's funerary temple.

Since 1998, the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III has been on the World Monument Fund's list of the planet's 100 most endangered monuments. Extensive excavation and restoration works at the temple site are taking place.

"I believe that in less than 20 years we will have achieved our objectives here," Dr Hourig Sourouzian, head of the conservation project, said in a video interview with Heritage Key. The final stage of the works at Amenhotep III's mortuary temple will be the creation of an open-air museum.

NOTE: Personally, I think that this statue and the other fantastic artifacts recovered at this tomb are simply the tip of the iceberg. Amenhotep III's reign was one of prosperity before his son, the 'Heretic King' Akhenaten, turned the empire on it's ear through abrupt religious reform. For that reason, much of the former religious artifacts and mysteries of 18th Dynasty may have been buried with the old king. We'll see....Lon

AMENHOTEP III

Coming from the 18th dynasty and being the ninth Pharaoh to rule during this period, Amenhotep III uplifted Egypt. In addition, he would father a son who would shake Egypt's foundation and that son would later be referred to as Akhenaten. During Amenhotep III's reign, which would come to be known as a period of peace and abundance, many structures were constructed that still stand today. Read further for an in-depth look into the Pharaoh that beautified Egypt.

Family

Being born to Queen Mutemwiya and the Pharaoh Thutmose IV, Amenhotep III was given the throne at the age of twelve and remained Pharaoh until the rightful age of 50. Like most Pharaohs he also had many wives. It was believed that he had 317 wives -- all which were well taken care of and were acquired through dowries. His favorite wife, Queen Tiy, was married to Amenhotep III at around the age of 11 or 12. Being his favorite queen, a pleasure temple was constructed in her honor. She was the first women to be given official acts and was believed to be very intelligent. Together they had a son named Amenhotep IV, who later changed his name to Akhenaten.

Amenhotep III

Amenhotep III ruled at a time when Egypt was in no great danger. Times were prosperous due to trading and when production and life along the Nile River had flourished. Unlike other Pharaohs conquering other kingdoms was not an issue. Construction was the main focus since times were abundant and no real great danger was evident. He enlarged many cities and constructed many temples. He built the temple Malkata located on the western shores of Thebes and the southern part of Medinet Habu. This site was dedicated to housing and also official chambers. His greatest and most famous structure was the Temple of Amun (modern day Luxor), which is known by its ruins and remains a popular tourist attraction today.

Managing to keep the throne for a long 39 years, Amenhotep III died of an unknown disease. He died at the age of 50. He left behind his favorite wife who would later move with her son Akhenaten as well as many other wives. Although not known for war or conquering, he left behind great monuments and temples and grand statues that would begin to tell of an upcoming change -- the Amarna Period.

Tomb

Jollis and Devilliers (French Engineers from Napoleon Bonaparte's expedition) discovered Amenhotep III's tomb in August 1799. They charted and logged their findings. Today the tomb is known as KV22 and is located in the Valley of the Kings. The tomb was found empty and the walls badly destroyed due to salt and exposure to the elements. Restoration is underway in the hopes that the tomb can be returned to a suitable condition. It's believed the mummy of Amenhotep III was found in the royal cache. The royal cache was located in a cut tomb near Deir El Bahri, Hatshepsut's temple, and was hidden by priests. That tomb was discovered in 1881 by the Abd-er-Rassul brothers.

I received the following email today:

Hello everybody...being a current reader of your site I found today your article about the "unusual cloud" of 17.5.2010- I have something similar to offer from a personal photo made in Ruehstaedt, Germany on 09.05.2010 whilst taking various pictures of a mammut tree for making a panorama afterwards. At that moment I did not see that line at the sky, only later at home on the PC I noted a fine straight black line in the right angle of the sky. This line did not occur on any other photo of mine. What could that be? Kind regards, Rita - Germany

NOTE: it certainly is an odd photo...I really doubt this is a jet trail or similar. A UFO possibly? Again, I leave it up to you...Lon

The Harundale Haunting - In 1970, the Bean family moved into a modest three bedroom ranch style house located in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The community was called, "Harundale." Bill recalled his first memories of the house were frightening ones. "It had a very foreboding and ominous feel from the start," he said. What the family didn't know is that a demonic force already occupied their new home. Bill Bean stated, "My family was literally torn apart by an evil force that co-existed among us. The activity began as noises and gradually escalated into violent physical attacks on us by the entities."

He has written two books Dark Force and Delivered. In 1970, the Bean family moved into a modest three bedroom ranch style house located in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The activity began as noises and gradually escalated into violent physical attacks on us by the entities."

In his book Dark Force, Bill Bean painfully describes in terrifying detail the events that tormented his family. As disturbing as some of the content in Dark Force is, there's a very powerful message of hope and faith that has affected many readers in a positive way.

Bill says, "God truly delivered me from evil". In his book "Delivered", Bill picks up where "Dark Force" leaves off and descibes some of the many supernatural experiences he had in his adult years. Some of these experiences include actual battles with demonic entities and a case of demonic possession. Bill also talks about the many mistakes he made in his life, and how satan was hell bent on destroying him. "Delivered" is a must read book for those who are seeking answers. Bill has appeared on hundreds of radio programs, has spoken and made appearances at numerous events and conferences around the country and has an episode entitled "House of the Dead." Which can be seen on A and E's series A Haunting. Bill is available for speaking engagements and for more information you can visit him on Facebook, Myspace and Twiter.
