dispatch - Two families in Transkei are fighting over a psychiatric patient they both say is their son following claims last year that the man had come back from the dead.

The Ntwalana family, from New Payne village in Mthatha, insisted this week that the man is their 26- year-old child Siviwe Ntwalana , who was murdered five years ago.

However, the Zokufa family, from Rara village in Mqanduli, are adamant he is their 28-year-old family member, Lakitha Zokufa – and they are prepared to have DNA tests done to make their point.

The man at the centre of the dispute is currently a patient at Mthatha General Hospital's Mental Clinic, where he has been admitted as Lakitha Zokufa.

Both families say only the police can clarify which family the man belongs to by matching the fingerprints on IDs, which both families have.

The Ntwalanas believe the man came back to life after his murder in 2005. He arrived in the village last year out of the blue and the family took him in.

Zamikhaya Ntwalana, 27, claiming to be the man's cousin, said his family was dead sure that the scars on the man's body resembled those of Siviwe, who was buried in March 2005.

"We are sure that my cousin resurfaced from death. He has a scratch on the nail of his left thumb, which he sustained when we were playing wagons while we were very young.

"He also has a scar on top of his right eye, which he sustained from being gored by a cow ," said Zamikhaya.

Siviwe was stabbed several times by another man during an argument over a woman and died as a result.

"People do resurface after being confirmed dead and buried. Similar things happened twice in Qokolweni, in 1994 and 1997 ," said Zamikhaya.

The family took him to the Mental Clinic at Mthatha General Hospital and bought new clothes for him.

There, a social worker identified him as Lakitha Zokufa, a patient often referred to the clinic for treatment.

Yesterday Nongadlela Zokufa said the man was the son of his late uncle. " I understand why the Ntwalanas claim he is their (family) member because when I looked at the dead man's ID they look alike ," said Nongadlela.

He said his family was planning to refund the Ntwalanas for all the money they had spent taking care of the man.

Nongadlela also said they would undertake a DNA test to settle the dispute once and for all.

Two 'Dead' Men Return In Transkei, South Africa

dispatch - A youth who was believed to have been stabbed to death and buried in 2005 has resurfaced in yet another mysterious return of a man from the dead in the Transkei, South Africa.

Siviwe Ntwalana, of Mthatha's New Payne Location, turned up at one of the village's homes, where he was given food last Thursday.

"They noticed his resemblance to our family," said his father, Mbongolwana Ntwalana, yesterday.

His elder brother's daughter went to check and recognised him, he said.

Ntwalana said Siviwe, born in 1983, was later taken to his home, but his mother could not believe her eyes.

"She was shocked because she knew that her son had been buried," he said.

The village's committee was approached and then police took him to the local hospital.

"At that time I was not at home, but when I woke up the following day family members came to ask about him," Ntwalana said, adding that he and his family subsequently went to the hospital to look for Siviwe.

Other family members were convinced it was his son when they saw him, but Ntwalana only believed it after checking certain marks on his body.

"What made me believe was a mark where he was gored by a cow near the eye," he said.

"We were very excited to see him again because we knew he died."

He explained that Siviwe was stabbed by another man during a love triangle argument and reported to have been killed.

Ntwalana said his son has yet to explain where he had been.

"He has not told us where he was all along. He breaks down when he speaks."

Superintendent Mzukisi Fatyela said police were investigating.

He said his fingerprints would be matched with those in his ID application and those of the person who was buried in 2005.

"That process will cast light on what exactly is taking place," Fatyela said.

He added that the police would investigate what happened to the murder docket that had been opened.

This is the second such incident in just under year in Transkei.

The Daily Dispatch reported last year that hundreds of people walked long distances to hear a minibus taxi driver who claimed he returned from the dead eight years after he was buried.

Nkosinathi Ntsente, of Hluleka near Ngqeleni, was found wandering in Ngqeleni and taken home by his elderly mother and uncle last March.

Ntsente was believed to have been shot dead during taxi-related violence between the Ncedo and Border taxi associations in 2001.

Ntsente had claimed that he saw what had happened in the supposed shooting in which a person resembling him was shot and buried, as well as the vigil and funeral of his "duplicate".

Fatyela said people claimed that it was normal for people to return from the dead. "We (as police) do not know about it. People claim it happens often. I personally don't know it," he said."

Hundreds Arrive To See 'Dead Man'

dispatch - Hundreds of people have walked long distances to Hluleka in the Transkei this week to hear a minibus taxi driver who claims he returned from the dead eight years after he was buried.

The true facts of how Nkosinathi Ntsente, 39, was supposedly shot dead in taxi violence and publicly buried, and was then found wandering around a village eight years later remains a mystery.

Ntsente himself tells a story that is filled with mysticism, but comes no closer to explaining what happened.

Ntsente's supposed "resurrection" has spread like a wildfire through Transkei, drawing crowds to his homestead.

From the early hours of the morning until late, he keeps repeating his story of how he was forced to survive on human blood, sorghum and wild berries while living in the forest.

"I'm tired of telling the same story, the whole day, every day," he said.

It was believed Ntsente had been shot dead in 2001 during taxi-related violence between the Ncedo and Border taxi associations.

Ntsente claims the gunmen were in white minibus taxi – and that he saw it all happening. "During the shooting I saw myself standing on another side watching a person who resembled me being shot in the forehead, right knee stomach and spine."

Ntsente said his badly injured "duplicate" was taken to St Barnabas Hospital in Libode . "I witnessed this person dying. The body was taken to the hospital's mortuary where (it was) cut open to remove internal organs before it was kept in a fridge."

Ntsente claims he even witnessed his night vigil and funeral and was then taken by "four female witches" to a dark forest where he met "lots of other abducted people".

"We mostly drank blood and ate izinsipa (used sorghum) and wild berries. I was released after witches said I was too powerful for them to make me do evil things," he said.

The news of his "awakening" broke on March 23 when his uncle, Washington Qalingoma, 59, and his elderly mother Mabhikani Ntsente found him wandering the streets in Ngqeleni and took him home.

Qalingoma said he believed Ntsente had been abducted, but could not explain why a funeral had been held. "It would be up to his father's family to decide whether or not to open the grave in order to see what is inside the coffin," said Qalingoma.

Mabhikani said she was only interested in taking care of her son: "I'm only happy that I have my son again after I had buried his body."

On Monday, local minibus taxi owners threw a party at the Hluleka taxi rank to celebrate Ntsente' s "return from the death".

His old friend Duma Ndzendze said people in the local taxi industry were still celebrating. "We are going to support him until he fully recovers," he said. "Right now his mind does not sound stable."

Japan's Unit 731: Auschwitz of the East

telegraph - More than 60 years after the end of the Second World War, the name "Unit 731" still has the power to generate shock, revulsion and denial in Japan.

The Imperial Japanese Army's notorious medical research team carried out secret human experiments regarded as some of the worst war crimes in history.

Its scientists subjected more than 10,000 people per year to grotesque Josef Mengele-style torture in the name of science, including captured Russian soldiers and downed American aircrews.

The experiments included hanging people upside down until they choked, burying them alive, injecting air into their veins and placing them in high-pressure chambers.

Now new detail about their victims' suffering could be revealed after the authorities in Tokyo announced plans to open an investigation into human bones thought to have come from the unit.

A new search is also due to be carried out for mass graves that may contain more victims of human experiments.

The bones are thought to be from up to 100 people and were discovered in a mass grave in 1989 during construction work.

They bore the marks of saws and some of the skulls had drill holes and portions of the bone cut out. But the issue is so controversial in Japan that they have since been stored in a repository.

Acting on information from a former nurse, the authorities have announced they will re-examine the remains to determine whether they were used in some of the barbaric experiments carried out by Unit 731 in the dying days of the Second World War.

Toyo Ishii came forward to say that during the weeks after Japan's surrender in August 1945, she and her colleagues at the army hospital were ordered to bury corpses, bones and body parts – she said it was impossible to determine how many people they came from – before the Allies arrived.

In an interview, she claimed that the hospital had three mortuaries where bodies with numbered tags around their necks were stored in a pool of formalin to preserve them before they were dissected. Organs and other body parts were preserved in glass jars. The sites that Ishii pinpointed as the mass graves will now be excavated.

The remains were found on the site of an apartment complex in the Shinjuku district of the city which is scheduled for redevelopment. It means the search is likely to be the last effort to identify the victims and determine their fate.

An investigation after the remains were found in 1989 concluded they were mostly non-Japanese Asians and had probably been used in "medial education" or taken to the medical school from battlefields overseas for analysis. The health ministry has repeatedly denied requests from relatives of several Chinese whose relatives are believed to have died in Unit 731 experiments to have DNA tests carried out on the bones.

Unit 731 was mostly active in China, where it carried out biological, bacteriological and chemical weapons tests on civilians and prisoners of war, including Russian soldiers and Americans.

Others were subject to live vivisections, exposed to extreme cold or killed in tests in pressure chambers.

The extreme right wing in Japan refuses to accept that the unit was anything more than a sanitation team that operated behind the front-line troops while virtually nothing on its activities is mentioned in school history books. Many of the scientists involved in Unit 731 went on to have careers in politics, academia, business, and medicine.

"Most people do not believe it even happened; the rest just want to cover it up and forget about what Japan did during the war," said Tsuyoshi Amemiya, a retired military historian. "Young people don't know and they don't want to know.

UNIT 731

Unit 731 was a covert biological and chemical warfare research and development unit of the Imperial Japanese Army that undertook lethal human experimentation during the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937–1945) and World War II. It was responsible for some of the most notorious war crimes carried out by Japanese personnel.

Unit 731 was the code name (tsūshōgō) of an Imperial Japanese Army unit officially known as the Kempeitai Political Department and Epidemic Prevention Research Laboratory. It was initially set up under the Kempeitai military police of the Empire of Japan to develop weapons of mass destruction for potential use against Chinese, and possibly Soviet forces.

Japan used human guinea pigs as terminal experimentation material. But for the most part, we have heard second, third-hand reports and read the accounts of western researchers. Recently, by combining the surviving documents of Unit 731 and the Japanese government, accounts of surviving POWs and civilians, and the accounts of surviving members of Unit 731, we are beginning to recognize the despicable level of barbarism that was engaged in these horrific places... Pingfan and Mukden, Manchuria, and even in Japan itself.

Fifty years later, the Japanese continue to deny or minimize this part of their wartime record, refused demands for a clear apology. The cover-up was assisted by the United States in the postwar years. Rather than allow Unit 731 research on biological warfare to fall into Soviet hands, America shielded some of the war's worst criminals in exchange for their knowledge. Today, victims of the experiments are at last seeking compensation in the courts.

Unit 731's sprawling headquarters were at Pingfan - completed with airport, railway stations and dungeons - on the outskirts of Harbin. Retreating Japanese troops burned down most of Pingfan in an attempt to destroy evidence, but even today, a local factory still fires up in incinerator where victims of medical experiments - at least 3,000 men, women and children - were disposed of. A dank cellar eerily suggests the thousand of white rats once bred there as carrier of bubonic plague and whose release at the war's end killed thousands of local Chinese in an epidemic.

Prof. Keiichi Tsuneishi, a Japanese historian of science, pieced together much of the Unit 731 story from scientific papers published by doctors, many of whom later agreed to speak to him. "They have no sense of remorse at all," he says. Instead, the doctors complained of wasting the best years of their lives on medical research that could not be continued after the war.

These attitudes have contributed to a collective amnesia in Japan toward war atrocities. Still, the truth keeps seeping out. One example: Japanese right-wingers typically deny the Nanjing massacre of 1937-38, in which marauding troops slaughtered some 200,000 Chinese. A secret report from the defunct Japanese South Manchuria Railroad Co. recently came to light detailing some results of the massacre.

Professor Tsuneishi says that the death of Emperor Hirohito 1989 has made it easier for veterans to speak openly. Even so, reverence for the emperor's brother, Prince Mikasa, learned of the human experiments when visiting Pingfan in 1943, and it is almost inconceivable that the emperor, who signed the order founding Unit 731, was unaware of the true nature of the work.

Indeed, recent historical research suggests that the emperor had a considerable greater hand in directly managing the conduct of the war and delaying the peace than had been thought. When Mac Arthur spared Hirohito from prosecuting in the interests of stability, he inadvertently blocked Japanese efforts to know and face their own past.

Generous Cop Helps Disadvantaged Kids From Beyond

suburbanchicagonews - Frank Griseto, with his massive biceps and gregarious personality, was always a larger than life presence.

But after this DuPage County sheriff's deputy was killed in an accident six years ago while riding in a Toys for Tots motorcycle run, his wife Gloria certainly didn't expect Frank's spirit to hang around haunting buildings.

For most of their 30-year marriage, Gloria Griseto heard her husband talk daily about his destiny -- about something big he was supposed to do that would benefit others, particularly children. The couple would be sitting in their Downers Grove home watching TV, and he'd start up again.

"So what do you want me to do about it, Frank?" she would ask, figuring he was just being a "typical Italian man" in need of lots of attention.

"I don't know," he'd reply. "But I know I'll need your help to do it."

On Dec. 5, 2004, Frank was riding with 40,000 other bikers in the annual Toys for Tots run in Chicago, when an automobile driver crossed the motorcade and rammed into Frank's motorcycle. He was killed instantly and never got the chance to figure out his destiny, much less fulfill it.

Or did he?

On the night he died, his widow said she continued to hear Frank's voice in her head, still pushing his need to help disadvantaged kids. And so, the following year, Gloria, a clinical counselor, created the not-for-profit "Destiny Through Character" -- with proceeds going toward helping foster children transition out of the welfare system.

Gloria put in the first $20,000 herself with insurance money from Frank's crushed bike. Then she held two dinner/dance fundraisers at Park Place, the Pipefitters Union hall in Countryside -- one in 2007, another in 2009 -- that raised a total of $40,000.

But the same day she met with Aunt Martha's Youth Services in Aurora about funding programs with the money she had raised, Gloria got a call from the producer of "Paranormal Cops."

This A&E reality-based show follows a group of real-life Chicago-area police officers who apply their forensic and investigative expertise to paranormal casework. Rob Fabiani, the Chicago police sergeant who created this team, had gotten a call from the security officer at the union hall in Countryside because too many people were complaining about all the weird things -- voices in the lobby; shadows in the restrooms -- going on there.

Fabiani said he and the crew brought in their equipment, along with a medium, who, after doing her research, told them the vision she saw was of a law enforcement officer, along with row after row of motorcycles. And when the investigators drew a sketch of the spirit that seemed to be haunting the place, it was a near-replica of Gloria's husband.

Gloria says she and her husband shared a special closeness, so it's no surprise she still feels his presence in her life. Why Frank decided to show up in Countryside is a different story -- but still typical of this generous man who had spent so much of his down-time volunteering with seniors and kids.

"He knew he had to do something big to fulfill his destiny. And Frank's persistent," said his wife. "So he's using his spirit to draw national attention to an issue he cared about deeply."

Scientists Discover Organic Molecules In Meteorite

bbc - Scientists say that a meteorite that crashed into Earth 40 years ago contains millions of different carbon-containing, or organic, molecules.

Although they are not a sign of life, such organic compounds are life's building blocks, and are a sign of conditions in the early Solar System.

It is thought the Murchison meteorite could even be older than the Sun.

The results of the meteorite study are published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

"We are really excited. When I first studied it and saw the complexity I was so amazed," said Philippe Schmitt-Kopplin, lead researcher on the study from the Institute for Ecological Chemistry in Neuherberg, Germany.

"Having this information means you can tell what was happening during the birth of the Solar System," Dr Schmitt-Kopplin told BBC News.

"Meteorites are like some kind of fossil. When you try to understand them you are looking back in time," he explained.

The researchers says the identification of many different chemicals shows the primordial Solar System probably had a higher molecular diversity than Earth.

The Murchison meteorite landed in a town of that name in Australia in 1969. It has been examined before by scientists looking for specific compounds but this is the first non-targeted analysis and has confirmed a huge variety of carbon-based chemicals.

A study using high resolution analytical tools including spectroscopy allowed the team to identify 14,000 different compounds.

The scientists extrapolated the number on the basis of previous analyses done on natural organic matter.

The ultra-high-resolution mass spectrometry used shows only a fraction of the compounds that exist in the material being analysed, in this case the meteorite.

However the scientists say the prior studies allow them to make a good estimate of the total number of compounds. "We were very conservative in our calculations and interpolation," said Dr Schmitt-Kopplin.

"We have to crush a few milligrams from the core of the meteorite to enable the extractions with solvents and thus we only see the extractable fraction."

Burning question

Scientists believe the Murchison meteorite could have originated before the Sun was formed, 4.65 billion years ago. The researchers say it probably passed through primordial clouds in the early Solar System, picking up organic chemicals.

Dr Schmitt-Kopplin hopes the findings might contribute to the debate over how life on Earth originated.

"I guess many people working in these fields with access to this knowledge will have some further hypothesis and will possibly be having some of their hypotheses confirmed."

"Where did we come from and what happened before? We all have that question inside us."

The team is also analysing other meteorites but say Murchison is probably the most complex they have studied.

Is It Silly Paranormal Nonsense Or Are We At War?

Chris Holly's Paranormal World - It has been a hard winter where I live on the coast of Long Island New York. Lots of snow, many cold days followed by ice slick nights. Walking, driving and keeping warm have become daily endeavors requiring time and effort. This winter has been a bear.

I grew up in the New York and New England area. I am not a stranger to winter. This winter is different. It is not only the amounts of snow it is very cold, bleak and gray. It is not the typical clean crisp clear winter days I have known all of my life.

Recently we had back to back snow storms. After the storms cleared off shore the work of clean up needed to be done. The roads, driveways and walks all needed to have the snow removed in order to return to normal life. Like everyone else my family and I bundled up and headed out to snow blow, shovel and plow out from the two feet of snow the storms left behind.

I was the last out of the house to help in the clean up. I walked out the back of my house onto a deck that is built high along the side of a hill. This deck overlooks the North Shore of the Long Island Sound with a wide open view of water and sky. As soon as I walked outside I looked up and stopped dead in my tracks. I just stood there for a few seconds looking.

My family was already pulling the snow blower, shovels and fireplace wood from the interior of our barn. I yelled to get their attention. My son was standing by the open barn door and yelled back " We already saw it- the sky, we know it is really weird"

The world was covered in a coat of white snow however the sky was a color I have never seen before. It was a shade of dark blue with a purple tint but bright and clear. It was without question the strangest sky I have ever seen. The color was unnatural. The bright glow of it hurt my eyes. In a word it was weird.

Along with the strange color and luminous glow I noticed a odd absence of any clouds or chem- trails or contrails. It was just one big gleaming odd color sky. As I stood looking at this strange sky I knew it was not natural. It was not as it should be.

My brother drove up to the barn to help us with his plow. He came stomping up to where I was standing on my deck. He took off his sun glasses as we stood over looking the water and the sky and said: "That is the strangest sky I have ever seen. I am going to go in and turn on the local news to see if they issued any warnings."

We turned our attention back to dealing with the snow clean up but talked about how odd so many things were getting.

I have written before about my views concerning the weather manipulation going on in the world today. China, Russia, the United States, plus about a dozen other countries are known to have the ability to manipulate the weather. Our own HAARP project -program or as I think of it Death Machine is fully visible and in use in Alaska. It is a serious concern to me that so many countries and powers on this earth have the ability to cause snow or rain storms or prevent them. This activity has been going on for years around the globe. None of this is a secret and can be easily researched.

I do not believe we should not be interfering with Mother Nature .I think using this ability as a tool or weapon is insanely dangerous. If we take on the natural cycles of Mother Nature we are messing with a force far bigger and stronger then we are. Not only are we out of line we have no way of coping with the reaction of nature to our interference.

We are only surface parasites on this planet for a very short time in our planets history. If we decide to take over its destiny we may be the ones finding we are no longer welcome. Does mankind really think this planet will not shake us off like a dog does fleas if we continue to get in the way of what Mother Nature has done for billions of years before us?

I think we are on an extremely dangerous road.

I started to think about this and realized we have been dealing with the non stop strange chemical spraying along with the knowledge we are manipulating the weather for about the same length of time. Unless your blind and still do not know the difference between chem.- trails and contrails it is obvious we are being sprayed all over the world in a timed pattern with huge amounts of cloud like material dumping constant amounts of a mystery substance into our atmosphere.

Of course there are no answers to the public's concerns regarding any of these things. The people who do question weather manipulation or the spraying over our heads are simply treated as if they are crazy for questioning these events rather then being given answers. Since we have been long trained to do as the media, powers that be and society dictate we obey and just swallow the dummy juice of our training and let it all happen blindly and silently.

It seems the only thing needed to keep us silent is a snicker or humiliating remark with an added dose of ridicule thrown in and we cower and hide. I have to wonder when we all became such cowards. I guess it happened along with our becoming so numb about all the things around us. I often think there has to be some kind of dummy juice being dumped upon us during some of the chem-trail spraying. Maybe our brain numbness is a product of one of the HAARP machines in use all over the earth.

If you look at all these things you begin to realize that we may not be able to find the forest for the trees. It seems logical to me that if weather machine projects are going on all over the world that defense against weather control would also be needed.

Can things we thought of as separate issues instead be pieces of one large problem?

Have we become so withdrawn from reality that we cannot see what is going on right before our eyes? Have we become so willingly blind ?

Could the use of weather manipulation be so dangerous and serious that the spraying going on over our heads is necessary to counteract what is being done by others with machines to us?

Can the HAARP type program death machines be our new cold war and the spraying of the strange large lingering clouds over our heads be the counter action needed to protect us from a war we are oblivious to?

I know this sounds far fetched as many people still do not pay attention to what goes on around them much less over their heads or understand anything about the on going weather control in the world.

I find the pieces of so many odd things going on around and above us fitting together when you realize the abilities of this technology.

I am fearful of these machines being unleashed by all the powers in the world both good and bad to be used as world control.

Keeping the idea of war by way of advanced technology would have to be kept under wraps as the worlds societies would certainly panic and become uncontrollable if they understood the seriousness of such a possibility.

This certainly would help explain and understand the constant and growing reports of Unidentified Objects being seen all over the world.

If the crafts are human made it would fit in with thinking our technology has taken us to new places and we the people are being kept dumb and blind about it.

If the crafts seen are not of this Earth, dimension or time our heading into areas like weather manipulation may be a serious concern of those watching us.

If we destroy the natural cycles of this planet it would have an effect on our solar system and universe. That may be the line we can not cross and that may be the reason we are being watched.

I believe the earth can reverse a great deal of man made mess without too much turmoil but it will not stand for our manipulating weather patterns or causing natural disasters, or extreme changes in our atmosphere. That is when we step over the line.

I may be completely wrong about all of the things I have written about today. Maybe I should just put my head in the sand like everyone else concerning weather manipulation. Maybe the spraying over my head day after day is not a big deal and UFO's a massive hallucination that has been going on since the start of the human race.

Maybe none of it is connected to the other or maybe we have just missed the forest because we are so busy looking at each and every tree. We may discover if we took time to stand back and that this entire thing looks a lot like one big mess of a forest!

I think we all need to stop being so complacent and numb about what goes on around us, above us and to us. I think we need to find our courage and understand if we allow others to control us we will be controlled. If we allow others to keep us in the dark we will live in the dark ages, and if we allow others to destroy our planet- we will become extinct.

I may be completely wrong about it all. I hope I am. It may however be a good idea for you to research some of the things I have written about here today.

It may be a good time and place to decide to stop drinking the dummy juice and start paying attention to what is going on right in front of your face.

It is easier to keep your head in the sand about all of this. The problem is that if the world crumbles around you and no one stops it , you will run out of sand!
