The Mothman Comes Home

Posted: 11 Mar 2011 03:43 PM PST

I received the following email from a woman in Ohio who has concerns in reference to a sighting her and a girlfriend had six months ago. She stated that she substituted their names for anonymity. 'Megan' affirms that all other details...location, date and description of the incident are factual:

Sir - my name is Megan. I am forwarding a summary of an experience that I and a friend had in August 2010. My friend and associate Kyra and I traveled from Columbus, Ohio to Ravenswood, West Virginia on business. While we were there, I wanted to make a side trip to Gallipolis, Ohio in order to visit relatives I had not seen for quite awhile.

After our meeting and presentation, we drove onto Ohio Rt. 7 and traveled south along the Ohio River towards Gallipolis. We had a nice, though brief, visit with my relatives. Around 6PM, we left their home and drove a few miles north on Rt. 7 to check-in to a hotel near the local airport.

Around 7:30PM, we decided to get dinner and found a quiet restaurant so we could eat and work. After we finished, Kyra needed to go to the store and pick up a few items that she forgot to pack. We headed to a Wal-Mart that was nearby the restaurant.

After we finished shopping, we were walking to the car when I noticed a woman running through the parking lot. When she reached her car, she looked back in the direction of the store then hurriedly got into the car. I quickly looked in the same direction and saw what looked like a large bird flying above the roof of the store. It was difficult to see but when it swooped downward the parking lot lights would shine off of it. It looked like it was either oily or had shiny leather-like skin. Whatever it was, it had a wide wing span. I would guess it reached 8-10 foot across. It circled above the store for about a minute then just disappeared.

We were both somewhat shocked at what we witnessed but figured that it was just a huge bird. Since it was dark, I figured we had misjudged what it really was.

We drove back to the hotel and decided to call it a night so we could get an early start on the drive home in the morning. I got ready for bed but thought I'd watch some television first. By this time it was around 10PM or so.

I must have dozed off fairly quickly because the next thing I remember is frantic knocking on my door. I stumbled out of bed and checked who it was. It was Kyra and she was obviously upset. She rushed into my room and said "it's here!" "What are you talking about?"- a little bit perturbed that she woke me up. She said that she was laying on the bed reading when she heard something in the hallway. She got out of bed, walked to the door and listened to what she thought was 'scratching' sounds. After a few minutes the sounds stopped, so she went back to bed. Not long after she lay down she heard more scratching sounds but, from outside her window. Again she got up and peeked through the curtains. This time, something looked back at her.

Our rooms were on the second floor in the back section of the hotel and both looked out onto a small parking lot and a large field beyond that. She could see, what she described as, an 'bald ugly man with wings' who was looking directly at her with 'large bulging eyes that lit up bright red.' It was there for only a few seconds. It then spread it's wings while running at the same time towards the end of the parking lot and lifted off the ground like a bird.

"You're kidding, right?" I muttered to her. "Meg, I swear to God – that thing is out there and it knows we saw it!" I knew the only way I was going to get some sleep was to allow Kyra to stay in my room. The next morning we woke early, checked out and drove back to Columbus.

Kyra didn't mention the incident from the previous night during the ride. In fact, she has still never said anything else about it. We continue to be good friends and have a very good working relationship.

But – I got curious. I had never heard about the Mothman or any of the tales associated with it. I grew up in Texas and had only lived in Ohio for a few years. I moved into my Mom's house after she had passed away. Her relatives lived throughout Ohio but I had never been told any of the stories.

This is the reason I am writing to you. We were near Point Pleasant, WV when we had this encounter. Do you think that it is possible that this was a Mothman? I read some of your posts recently and I'm starting to believe that Kyra actually saw something supernatural.

In light of the prophecies of danger that this thing is suppose to warn people about, Kyra has had some bad luck and tragedy since that day. Her husband suddenly left her, she had a fire in her house and she severely injured her leg in a fall. Could this be connected?

I personally don't believe in predictions, either good or bad. But I will admit that these have been strange times since we witnessed 'whatever.'

NOTE: I responded to 'Megan's' concerns with a lot more uncertainty...we really don't have many answers for the Mothman. Is it natural, supernatural or non-terrestrial. Some people think that it may be an escaped experiment performed by the government. What would you tell 'Megan?' ...Lon

Uruguay: The Salto UFO Was "Space Junk"
By Luis A. Perez – Salto

Explanation given: NASA states debris was the remains of a U.S. rocket launched in 2003

"A luminous fleet" is how some witnesses described it. The photo was published in El Pueblo de Salto newspaper, where the reporter who took it is employed. The Uruguayan Air Force dispelled the mystery – it was "space junk", the remains of a U.S. rocket.

"Remains of one of the stages of a Delta II rocket launched in 2003 from Cape Canaveral." That was the explanation given by the Uruguayan Air Force after a quick investigation of the phenomenon's visual record, which was made known in Salto on Sunday.

The image of an unidentified flying object - captured by a photojournalist at 23:00 hours in the vicinity of Zanja Gorda – became an element for study by the members of the ComisiĆ³n Receptora e Investigadora de Denuncias de Objetos Voladores No Identificados (CRIDOVNI – Uruguay's sanctioned UFO research body). The author of the photo, Luis Massarino, was also brought in for questioning. But NASA's information was the key: the sighting's narrative coincides with the official data furnished by the United States space agency: on that day, at that time, latitude and altitude, the re-entry of fragments of a Delta II rocket launched 8 years ago was anticipated.

Massarino, linked to Diario El Pueblo and whose work has sometimes been featured in EL PAIS, mainly in its sports pages, took the photo in an entirely fortuitous manner. He happened to be fishing at night in Zanja Honda, 50 kilometers north of the city. He was only able to press the shutter once to capture the movement of a "luminous fleet' moving from West to East.

"There were five of us at the campsite. Suddenly, the site's owner and one of my kids looked skyward, shouting for me to look at those lights in the sky. I looked up and saw what looked like a train pulling railcars, with more lights of an intense violet hue. I ran to the pickup truck to grab my camera and document the image," Massarino told EL PAIS. At that time they were getting ready to roast a dorado (fish) over the coals.

He notes that the urgency and prevailing darkness kept him from noticing that the equipment was on automatic and he could therefore not focus. "When I realized this, I switched to manual and 3200 ASA, causing me to lose an tremendous amount of time. I was able to take a single photo, which was the one at the exact moment, because it truly did startle me."

He told EL PAIS that in spite of having covered numerous stories involving spacecraft landings or fly-overs at Establecimiento La Aurora in Salto, he never thought that he'd have an experience like the one on Wednesday.

Another eyewitness account, from a reader of El Pueblo, describes the phenomenon as: "Aligned luminous objects. The brightest of them looked broken and in flames, and the ones at the head of the caravan weren't so bright, but they seemed to be smaller in size."

"A 100% conventional phenomenon" - the report issued by the Uruguayan Air Force's ComisiĆ³n Receptora e Investigadora de Denuncias sobre Objetos Voladores No Identificados reads thus: "This Commission, after having analyzed the main witness's story, the photograph presented and the information regarding space junk, concludes that the lights seen in flight by various witnesses from the Department of Salto on the evening of Wednesday, March 2 (2011) correspond to the re-entry of the remains of one of the stages of the Delta II booster launched in 2003 by the United States from Cape Canaveral. Therefore, there exists the 100% likelihood that it is a conventional phenomenon."

Will March 19 'Supermoon' Trigger Natural Disasters?

On March 19, the moon will swing around Earth more closely than it has in the past 18 years, lighting up the night sky from just 221,567 miles (356,577 kilometers) away. On top of that, it will be full. And one astrologer believes it could inflict massive damage on the planet.

Richard Nolle, a noted astrologer who runs the website astropro.com, has famously termed the upcoming full moon at lunar perigee (the closest approach during its orbit) an "extreme supermoon."

When the moon goes super-extreme, Nolle says, chaos will ensue: Huge storms, earthquakes, volcanoes and other natural disasters can be expected to wreak havoc on Earth. (It should be noted that astrology is not a real science, but merely makes connections between astronomical and mystical events.) Man arrested for hosting 'satellite laser beam' healing scheme

kimt - We're learning more about a Southern Minnesota man who police say tricked an elderly couple into believing laser beams from satellites could cure disease.

The Mower County Sheriff's Office arrested Ronald Renken on Monday.

Sheriff Terese Amazi says in her 25 years in law enforcement, she's never seen anything like it.

She says Ronald Renken who's accused of swindling an elderly county couple out of more than $6,000 dollars, is lucky he's not facing more serious charges.

A criminal complaint suggests Renken claimed laser beams from a satellite could cure the man's diabetes at price of more than $2,300.

"I've never heard of this one before obviously, it's just unfortunate that people believed him," Amazi said.

Amazi says Renken, met the couple after selling them a water softener several years ago.

"The elderly man said he had a lot of health problems and they got to talking and the the water conditioning person said he would sell them supplements that would cure them as well as this satellite that would beam from outer space being tweaked in Germany," she said.

Investigators later learned disease isn't the only problem Renken claimed laser beams could cure.

He runs a business out of his home in Stewartville called Care Free Water Products, according to the criminal complaint he told the couple that a laser beam could be sent down from a satellite and clean their well of lead and iron.

He charged the couple more than $4,000 for that service.

We tried talking to Renken who posted bail, but no one answered the door at his home.

Amazi says the result of Renken's scheme could have turned out much worse.

"The real tragic part is he also told this man to quit using his medications that he was cured and that obviously wasn't the case," she said.

Amazi says Renken also told the man's wife she had cancer all over her body and offered her the same treatment at a discounted rate.

The couple then contacted their daughter who works at an area hospital.

"It definitely alarmed her and she brought her parents in to make this report," Amazi said.

Amazi says if the man with diabetes had been hospitalized or even died because of going off of his medications Renken would be facing additional charges.

They are looking for more people who may have fallen victim to his satellite scheme.

Amazi says several people have already contacted her office. She says if you think you were affected, you should contact your local law enforcement agency.

Japan Earthquake: Were There Warnings?

Posted: 11 Mar 2011 09:39 AM PST

One year ago, on March 6, 2010, I posted the following:

Oarfish Omen, Extraterrestrial Warning Suggest Calamity For Japan

telegraph - The appearance of the fish follows Saturday's destructive 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile and the January 12 tremors in Haiti, which claimed an estimated 200,000 lives.

A quake with a magnitude of 6.4 has also struck southern Taiwan.

This rash of tectonic movements around the Pacific "Rim of Fire" is heightening concern that Japan - the most earthquake-prone country in the world - is next in line for a major earthquake.

Those concerns have been stoked by the unexplained appearance of a fish that is known traditionally as the Messenger from the Sea God's Palace.

The giant oarfish can grow up to five metres in length and is usually to be found at depths of 1,000 metres and very rarely above 200 metres from the surface. Long and slender with a dorsal fin the length of its body, the oarfish resembles a snake.

In recent weeks, 10 specimens have been found either washed ashore or in fishing nets off Ishikawa Prefecture, half-a-dozen have been caught in nets off Toyama Prefecture and others have been reported in Kyoto, Shimane and Nagasaki prefectures, all on the northern coast.

According to traditional Japanese lore, the fish rise to the surface and beach themselves to warn of an impending earthquake - and there are scientific theories that bottom-dwelling fish may very well be susceptible to movements in seismic fault lines and act in uncharacteristic ways in advance of an earthquake - but experts here are placing more faith in their constant high-tech monitoring of the tectonic plates beneath the surface.

"In ancient times Japanese people believed that fish warned of coming earthquakes, particularly catfish," Hiroshi Tajihi, deputy director of the Kobe Earthquake Centre, told the Daily Telegraph.

"But these are just old superstitions and there is no scientific relationship between these sightings and an earthquake," he said.

EXTRATERRESTRIAL WARNING

Friday afternoon, I received a telephone call from a friend who had a dire warning. First off, this friend has had repeated alien contact for several years which I have documented. He has proven to me that he is not a charlatan through his verbal accounts and the physical evidence he has presented. The warning was that in the month of April 2010 to expect a sizable earthquake in the Pacific, notably in the area of Japan, as well as a tsunami that will effect the west coast of the United States and/or the Baja Peninsula.

This is not the only time I have heard a similar warning. A few months ago, an 'experiencer', who I had interviewed in 2007, contacted me that she had received a message from 'the guide' (according to her, 'the guide' was present during her abduction) to "take steps and prepare for major disturbances...to heed the 'messenger'." It upset her enough to call me several times and insist that we talk. By the way, this woman is married to a USMC officer and lives on Okinawa.

In spite of the recent major earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, I hadn't given much thought to the 'message' until I read last night the significance of the oarfish as the 'Messenger from the Sea God's Palace' in Japanese lore. For centuries, the Japanese have associated the sighting of deep sea oarfish as a harbinger of earthquakes. Many will call it superstition and that I am making too much of this...but it is an strange coincidence. Oh, don't shoot the messenger...Lon
