I received the following email from D.L. who seeks some answers:

Hello, Mr. Strickler. I was referred to your site by my grandson after I mentioned an incident I had in 1958 when I was a young man going to college in Mont Alto, PA.

It was late evening and I was in my room sitting in a lounge chair trying to read and stay awake at the same time. I was near graduation and had a lot of things on my mind. As I sat there, I had a strange feeling like someone was watching me and I became very restless. After a few minutes I 'sensed' that something was on the other side of the closed door to my room. I still can't explain it. So I got up from the chair and went to the door, opened it a bit and looked out. There were two men dressed in black suits and black furry hats. They looked like identical twins. They were dark complexioned with Asian eyes, but they were not Asian.

As I stood there, they didn't said a word but I knew that they were 'talking' to me through my mind, saying '...are you ready?' For some unknown reason, I knew deep down what they were referring to. I was shirtless with only a pair of shorts, so I reached for a jacket, '...that will not be necessary. No one will see you.' The three of us walked out in the hallway and suddenly we were standing on a small hill behind the student hall. I noticed the headlights of a car coming down the street and ducked behind the two men. I heard them laughing at me in my mind, '....we told you no one would see you'.

I was scared and turned away for a minute wondering if I should try to run. I thought better of it, turned to say something to them and noticed that they we looking up. I followed their gaze and realized that something was suspended above is. I continued to look when an opening appeared in its center and blue-white light came tumbling out of it. I started to feel dizzy and a bit nauseous, like when you are on a roller coaster or airplane that is dropping too fast. Then I realized we were floating up toward whatever the object was. I must have fainted because I only remember that I was lying on my side when I woke. I raised up and looked around. The entire room was empty except for the small table on which I was sitting.

The room was bathed in a soft glow but had no apparent light source that I could see. Then I heard a female voice say, '...he's awake.' I looked around to see if I could see anyone but saw nothing. About this time on the far wall a door appeared and opened. Although the hallway was dark, there was a bluish white illumination that appeared as though it was materializing. Two shadows seemed to move across the doorway but I couldn't tell anything about the shapes.

I received a mental image of two people approaching, one carrying a tray full of some kind of surgical instruments and syringes. Then I went blank. My next memory was of being back in my room and in my chair reading. I got up and felt like I had just woke from a deep sleep. Then I noticed several items were missing including three books and a framed photo of my parents.

I have never had any affects (that I know of) from my experience though I have had a remarkable healthy life. As well, I am constantly told I look 20 years younger than my actual age.

Now, the reason I am now writing about my encounter. A few days ago, a large box arrived at my daughter's house that was addressed to me. The reason why it was sent to her address is a mystery. As well, there was no return address and it was shipped from Oakland, California (the state where I now reside). My grandson brought the package to me a day or so later. While he watched, I opened the box. It contained the three missing books and the framed photo of my parents that went missing the night of my encounter. There was also a battered shoebox that looked very familiar. When I opened the shoebox, there were a variety of small items (pens, buttons, coins, etc) that I realized I had lost at some period in my young life. That is when I revealed my past experience with my astonished grandson.

I'm still confused after receiving the package a few months ago. Who were these men and what did they want? Have you heard of a similar experience? You have my permission to copy this email. I really need some answers. Thank you so much. D.L.

alcione - A "Veterinary Assistant" featured in the whole Metepec Creature brouhaha, "Ángel Palacios Núñez", is, according to Alejandro Franz, in fact Urso Moreno Ruíz, nephew of Mario Moreno, and a taxidermist.

More importantly, Urso Ruíz apparently confessed in an Internet forum he indeed hoaxed the creature, which is indeed just a squirrel-monkey:

"It's just the corpse of a skinned squirrel-monkey. I took its ears out and involved it with all the hair and fluids of all animals I could find, then I dried it. All samples they take of it will come out as being of different animals."

Of course, we already knew it was a skinned squirrel-monkey:

He goes on:

"Mr Mario quickly sold it to Maussán for 300.000 pesos [U$23,000], as you can see after four years they still can't realize it's a hoax."

And tries to defend himself:

"I must say I didn't claim it was real. That was Maussán who claimed it was real. He believed it. All the show was a hoax that got out of control, but after four years I'm happy to see one of my creations going around the world and through many scientists and tests and they still haven't figured out what it is. I may have fooled science! LOL"

Franz warns that, contrary to what Urso Ruíz claims, he did claim in video that the creature was "a strange animal". Lies. Franz further accuses Maussán, Mario Moreno and Marco Salazar of creating this whole fraud from the beginning. It's indeed interesting they should go with DNA testing right away, which is not their usual practice with such "finds" at all. It's as if they knew the results would be inconclusive.

Of course, from the beginning people noticed it looked exactly like a skinned monkey. People also know very well Maussán is part of Ufology's Hall of Shame.

So people had every reason not to believe the story. Reason, apparently, is something the History Channel's MonsterQuest team lacks.

But then, reason is something that may be relative. Money and ratings can make everything relative, one would guess. How much money did all those involved, knowingly or not, make from this hoax?

NOTE: once again, we learn the Jaime Maussan is full of shit and 'MonsterQuest' (again) fell for 'less that accurate' information. Honestly, I used to give Maussan some credence but some of his antics in the past few years have completely turned my respect for him 180 degrees. MUFON and other paranormal organizations need to reconsider their use of his 'expertise' and presentations at any future conventions...Lon

news.com.au - Bob Irwin has gone public about a beyond-the-grave dialogue with Steve.

Woman's Day reports its psychic Deb Webber hooked Bob up with his late son during a private reading at his remote Queensland property, according to the Courier-Mail.

Bob said the psychic left him with "goose bumps" by relaying things only he and Steve knew about.

The clincher? Steve wanting to know what Bob had done with the old socks and hat he'd pinched years ago.

"We talked about so many things, some too personal to talk about," Bob said.

"He told me everything is OK, not to be sad and to keep up the fight, to continue looking after the animals."

As many of you remember I took an in depth look at the 'Michigan Dogman' phenomenon after receiving inquiries and eyewitness accounts from readers. As well, a new film surfaced that supposedly depicted graphic results of an attack. I'm going to give "MonsterQuest' the benefit of the doubt until I see the production, which will air on Wednesday, March 24th at 9 p.m. EST on the History Channel. Commentary with video: I was at my little brother's house Friday June 10th and my sister-in-law was watching Fox News. A short segment came on about "the Beast of Bray Road". Hannity then played a clip from a film named..."The Gable Film".

Sirens went off in my head.

Our only uncle was a film nut in college, back in the seventies. He was always making home movies and beer commercials. He was even hired, (not for pay), to help the Michigan Department of Natural Resources investigate and document a bear attack, just north of Bellaire. (Our Grandmother worked in the Antrim County Courthouse,.... she had a hand in getting him the gig). The victim's name was Aaron GABLE.

.....GABLE!!!

My mother tells us that after filming the attack scene, our Uncle John was so distraught that he packed up his stuff and moved to Florida, two weeks later!. Mom says his behavior was becoming very psychotic, he couldn't sleep at night and he kept going on about how "bears have FIVE toes,..... dogs have four"!. Just a week after he left, a DNR officer hand-delivered the film that Uncle John made to my Mother's house. It's been in a box in the basement ever since.

Now, I seem to recall that these films usually lasted about five minutes or so, but the film we have is only about a minute long... and the end of it was obviously torn off, not cut clean. I wonder just how much is missing? We almost threw this film away just a couple of years ago, but I wound up buying a vintage projector on eBay, just to see what was on this film. (Boy, was I surprised). NOW,..... I find that there's this "Gable" film out there?

I wonder if these two films are related. I'll see if I can get it in better resolution, other than with Wifey's camera-phone. (It might be expensive,..... but I'm sure it'll be worth it).

One thing's for certain, whatever it was on that clip that they played on Fox News,..... it sure didn't look like a bear.

NOTE: if you compare the original film with the new film, there are some very interesting similarities, namely the 1968 Ford truck in both films and the female (similar body shape and hair). I was tipped off about this new video Sunday night...but I had service problems and couldn't get it posted for Monday's email. The combination of new evidence and the reports I have received and posted here, there's a very good possibility, IMO, that an unknown cryptid (or more) is roaming the wilds of Michigan...Lon

I'm gay.

From some seventy years of personal experience, I can tell you that there's not much "gay" about being homosexual. For the first twenty years of my life, I had to live in the shadows, in a culture that was — at least outwardly — totally hostile to any hint of that variation of life-style. At no time did I choose to adopt any protective coloration, though; my cultivation of an abundant beard was not at all a deception, but part of my costume as a conjuror.

Gradually, the general attitude that I'd perceived around me began to change, and presently I find that there has emerged a distinctly healthy acceptance of different social styles of living — except, of course, in cultures that live in constant and abject fear of divine retribution for infractions found in the various Holy Books… In another two decades, I'm confident that young people will find themselves in a vastly improved atmosphere of acceptance.

Before publishing this statement, I chose to privately notify a number of my closest friends and colleagues — none of whom, I'm sure, have been at all surprised at this "coming out." I'm prepared to receive the inevitable barrage of jeers and insults from the "grubbies" out there who will jump to their keyboards in glee to notify others of their kind about this statement, which to them will be yet further proof of the perfidy of the rationalist mode of life that I have chosen. Those titters of joy will be unheard over the murmur of acceptance that I confidently expect from my friends.

This declaration of mine was prompted just last week by seeing an excellent film — starring Sean Penn — that told the story of politician Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in California. I'm in excellent company: Barney Frank, Oscar Wilde, Stephen Fry, Ellen DeGeneres, Rachel Maddow, are just a few of those who were in my thoughts as I pressed the key that placed this on Swift and before the whole world…

I should apologize for having used Swift as the venue to publish this note, an item that is hardly the focus of what we promote and publish here, but I chose the single most public asset I have to make this statement. It's from here that I have attacked irrationality, stupidity, and irresponsibility, and it is my broadest platform. Here is where I have chosen to stand and fight.
